  • Re: photos! how do you get good pictures?

I have to disagree with my fellow Coloradans. I have tried taking my photos in indirect sunlight on cloudy days and my color and shine don't show up near as well as on a sunny day. You would think the filtered light would be better but it has not been my experience with my camera. It could just be my camera too. Sherri: You are going to have to

  • Re: how can I turn an undrilled rectangular swarovsky into a pendant?

Oh my, I have wire wrapped cameos that ended up looking very vintage. I think wire wrapping is your perfect solution for this Swarovski. Look around online at some of the examples. There are styles that will suit both young and old.

  • Re: Concave Roundnose Pliers

That was sweet of hubby though. No doubt someone at the store where he bought them said you "absolutely had to have them." When I first got into wire working I did use these and they were very helpful as I had no experience making loops. They helped me get the idea and hang of it and helped them stay uniform. However, I only use my round nosed

  • Re: I've been accepted to my SECOND juried show!

Thanks Mary and Jen. Sheri: That sounds great. And since we are going to have to be celebrating for a bunch of people on the forum too, it will be good to walk back to our hotels. LOL

Oh yea, a tripod is an essential to good clear photos. The more you go into zoom with a macro setting, the more shake and instability you will have for your camera. If you want good closeups, you have to use macro and if you are going to use macro, you need the tripod. As far as the light boxes, I have tried many, many variations, many, many times.

  • Re: SSE Round 6 - show and tell!

You got the ones you sent me right Kirsten. I love them all. I used the bow idea and am making quite a few Christmas earrings with Christmas ribbon and matching beads for Christmas presents. Thanks for the great idea!! Laurel

  • Re: attaching a clasp

Lorna: I do a lot of these "floating" necklaces. They are way cool. I have found two ways to finish them off at the ends. Both use a crimp. One is to get a crimp with a loop on it. You crimp it on the end of your wire and then you have the little loop sticking out which you can use to attach jump rings to attach your final clasp. The other
