Those are beautiful! I don't know of any shops to recommend to carry your work but a lot of times the best thing is to just take a nice display of your work to local bead shops, new age shops, and little boutique art galleries. Research places in your area and make appointments with the buying manager or owner to show them your work. If that sounds

Very beautiful and original work! Rutilated quartz is such a wonderful and enchanting stone and I love the mix of materials you use in your work. I'll have to get back to making some quartz centerpiece beads one of these days. There was some AMAZING Cats Eye Rutilated Quartz from Brazil in Tucson this year. It was spendy, but I'd never seen

Howdy Beaders, lately I've been on a bit of a spree with phenomenal stones. These are those stones with properties that cause optical phenomena to occur within the stone. The major categories are Asterism in star stones (ruby, sapphire, etc) which is caused by fiber like inclusions in the crystal; Opalescence (opals) a milky to rainbow play of color

Hey Folks, I continue on with my pattern of "going rogue" in my lapidary work. I haven't cold worked any glass beads in a long time so I have recently been making some as I get ready for the Portland, Oregon Bead Bazaar next weekend. Here's a little about how I got into making handcrafted beach glass beads, along with subverting the

Hi Folks! I got some more work done in metal minerals! Here's a nice selection of high grade silver & cobalt ore from Cobalt, Ontario. These would all make nice big ring stones or be quite unique in pendants and brooches. They're really hard to photograph because the camera reads them as dark and grey, when they're really shiny silver

Hi Folks! Billy: Thanks! I'll contact youdirectly later in the week when I'm back in my studio. ANd regarding the ivory billiard balls, I don't mind getting my hands on any that are serious broken, chipped, cracked, and falling apart. I would be cutting them up anyway to use as smaller pieces and I'm used to cutting mammoth ivory from

Good Mourning Beaders, thanks to all for the kind words and thoughts regarding the loss of my housemate, Syl. He was a great guy. We had a wonderful ceremony for him in our back yard with about 40 folks in attendance and his grown children came from back East. My condolences to all of you who are dealing with the recent loss of a loved one. Mourning

Hi Everyone, thanks for all the comments! Billy, I may take you up on your billiardite offer. I've worked with it before and it is definitely harder than bowlerite and easier to polish. I think most bowlerite is a reactive urethane. I've made beads and belt buckles out of billiardite. The most popular ball seems to be the 8 ball. I would also
