Lita, I now doubt that it is possible to work the bugle beads around a dowel like shown in the African Helix tutorial. Maybe it is Russian Spiral.......cause in the first link it looks exactly like the piece from Fusionbeads.

On glass and wood tiles I'd recommend decoupage paper or the upper layer of nice napkins. I used these materials to decorate wooden boxes or vases.

Hm, to me this looks like African Helix/Ladder Chain, but I can be wrong. I know there were instructions somewhere in the blogs. The ladder beads are substituted by bugles. OK, I found it.
