  • Re: Don't Try This At Home, Folks!

lol Inca, that was hilarious, thanks for the giggle between you and Billy lol I couldnt resist adding to this thread, because Im still ticked off that I did it. I bought a tray full of tubes and containers of different coloured/size beads and thread. I had carefully taken the tape off of each container, and thinking.. 'was I doing the right thing'

  • Re: avoid openings in jump rings and crumbled crimps

something else Ive never heard of being a newbie lol..magic crimps? I always thought they were magic when they crimped the way the were supposed to. I do use a tool, the normal crimper with 2 positions for crimping, but Im sure I read here, that the way to do it, is actually opposite to the way it had been done...but cant find where I read that

  • Re: We are teachers!

well....being a total bead newbie but having enough tools and beads to fill a small shop..I find the beginnings, something that I end up having to google to get help. Things like: When it all goes wrong, the crimp beads crumble, the piece falls apart because there is a space in the jump ring ( do we solder, do we glue, how the hell do we fill the gap

  • Re: odd # of beads

I usually buy by the handful and count them at the checkout, and if its a bead I really like and there arent many left, I buy the lot just in case. So no, I dont buy an odd or even number on purpose, its left to chance I guess. But in my work, I usually do end up with odd numbers Theres always someway of using up the spare beads

  • Re: The Question?

I've often wondered the same thing. I only ever make an item that appeals to me, if it doesnt appeal, I just dont make it, although of course, if I was asked to make something specific even though I wouldnt make it for myself, then thats ok. I usually keep the ones that turn out really nice until I make something I like more, then the older piece
