  • Re: To our Australian Beading Friends - I'm praying for your safety!

Thank you so much for your message. At the moment 108 lives have been claimed, and 750 houses, including whole towns. For the past three weeks, the temperatures have been the worst-ever. Im near Canberra, and we have had over 35 degrees celcius every day, and most days the temperature goes up to 41 or 42 degrees celcius. And for 5 days in a row the

  • What bead-related stuff to store in tins!?

Hi, after christmas, and the christmas sales I seem to have a collection of really nice tins, most had biscuits in them! Does anyone have any ideas for what bead-related items could be stored in them? Does anyone use tins to store beads etc??

  • The Best In Contemporary Beadwork

Hi, I just won "The Best In Contemporary Beadwork" at an online auction for $6 It looks like a cool book (the pictures on the back page look awesome!) and I thought it was a bargain so snapped it up! • Re: Beadwork's Feb/March issue!!!

Oh! I'm so jealous! It won't be in newsagents here for another month or so (I guess the up-side is that I only got the december/jan issue a little over a week ago!) I always look at the beadwork site to see the little pics of what will be in the next issue - I don't want to, because I want it to be a surprise but I can't help myself

  • Re: Tubular Peyote stich question

When I first started, when i got towards the end/where I wanted to attach the clasp, i decreased two or three times, and the exited from a bead in the centre of a circle, and added 4-6 beads, and went back

  • Re: Using string/nymo thread

Hi, When you knot beading thread it is a good idea to put a small dot/dab of clear nail polish onto the knot, let it dry, and it makes the knot much more secure and stronger. Also, once you have made a knot to attach the beadwork to the clasp, thread the thread end back through the beading, and cut the thread in a middle bead if possible. I've learnt

  • Re: Wirework Rivoli pendant - the early one

Wow! The colour of the rivoli is incredible! I have a question about rivolis - Ive been looking at buying a couple to experiment using in beadwork - are they supposed to have a hole in the top front or no holes? some I have seen online have a hole in them!

  • Re: "Down Under" by Christi Friesen

Thanks for that. Because I bought it online, I would have to pay for return postage, but because all the right pages are there, im not going to bother. I will think of it as a 'special' book!
