Good tips! I struggle so much with organization. Thank you for posting your ideas, Billy! :-) ~Kirsten in PA

  • Re: Insomnia

Hi Billy. I suffer from insomnia. I do consider it suffering. I would consider it a blessing if I got stuff done while I was not sleeping... but my brain & body don't want to do anything, so I just lay there. I listen to music on my MP3. I read sometimes. I'd say I average about 2-3 hours of sleep a night. On the weekends I make up for it

  • Re: Does anyone know of any software that can be purchased in the US that is easy to use that allows you to set up your own website?

Debbie, What kind of a website are you wanting? Are you looking to sell from your site, or will it just be a portfolio of your designs? There are hosting sites that specialize in both. My jewelry website is hosted through WAHMShoppes.com. I have another site that I do not sell from, and that is hosted by Bravenet. Both sites have premade templates,

  • Re: Can someone please tell me what Etsy is?

Oh man, I love etsy. Whenever I need a giftie, I head straight to etsy! And yeah, you can get so lost there. So often, I will go to etsy, and just start clicking. One thing leads to another, and before I know it, my cart is full of goodies that I didn't know I needed, but once I saw them, knew I could not live without!! Listing things for sale on

  • Re: credit card processing

I have heard good things about Propay. Right now, I only accept Paypal. But some collegues have really been talking up Propay, saying their sales doubled after adding that as an option to their website. I guess Paypal scares some buyers away?

  • Re: How do you store finished pieces?

Hi! Like Nora, I store my pieces in the tackle binders. What I like so much about them is that they are very transportable. They make set up and break down at craft shows a breeze. Plus, for impromptu showing-off, my friends and family can "page through" my new designs, just like a book :-) They are also nice to take your work to galleries

  • Re: photos! how do you get good pictures?

Oh yeah, that is confusing. Sorry I did not even realize! I am always excited to meet other Kirstens - it is a rare name. How lovely that we both like the same things too :-) Thanks for your article, Kirsten. It brought me to this website, which looks like a fantastic community and resource. ~Kirsten in PA

Hi Jeni, You can get the gradient background by using a gradient paper backdrop, found at your local camera shop. Kind Regards, Kirsten in PA
