I just wanted to bring this post back up. I'm finding I don't have time to read all the posts, much less answer any. I was sure I could read and participate when I read my emails every morning. But there are so many new people and posts, I'm usually half through reading when I have to rush off to get to work! I love reading all the introductions
The beads along the back of the neck have darkened considerably more than those at the front, probably due to oil, sweat, and perfume from the skin. Were you able to clean your ivory beads? What method worked for you?
Hi Lisa, I have learned you do not want to soak them in anything. Keep the cleaning on the dry

I do try to recycle. At least half of my stock is "used" beads and components. Garage sales, flea marketsm friends and family, and ebay are good sources. Also, I try to order from 'fair trade' companies. You can find a list at www.fairtradefederation.org . If you look under "find members" heading you can search for Beads

Welcome. I'm also a lefty, and a self taught beader. I've managed to master most of the "stitches". I think if you find good written instructions and focus on what they are telling you to do instead of the pictures (which are backwards for us) you can usually work it out. If i'm doing design panel of peote, square, or brick stitch

I'm not sure what you are needing. But I have pages of quotes that I find and save. Here are a few of the shorter ones.: Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life. Confucius Never give a sword to a man who can't dance. Confucius "Gossip is just news running ahead of itself in a red satin dress." Liz

I could not resist trying - I'm: Iridescent Turquoise Miracle Bead. What is a "miracle" bead?

My husband lost his wedding ring on our first anniversary, that was 32 years ago!. He lost the second one a few years later. I didn't give him a third ring until our 20th anniversary. It's getting loose now, so I expect it to go any day!
