I am a published craftsperson: I make everything. I have reeled myself in and I concentrate on purses, jean skirts, skirts, shrugs and jackets (wearables). MOST of my items are from redesigned/rearranged jeans (denim). It started as a fluke and has snowballed into my business. I had a purse published in "Haute Handbags" last year and it has just made me want to enter EVERYTHING !!!! Every item that I make has beeds in some way, shape or form. I have always LOVED beads. The shapes, colors, textures, variations...it all just pulls me in but... NOT being a beader, I just used them to embellish. I have a business partner and she makes jewelry. This year we attended a bead show in Philly and that did it.... when I grow up I NEED TO BEAD !!!!
My focus has changed a bit and now I have a need to include freeform beaded embroidery in everything I make. I started with a sampler that evolved into the flap on my sister's purse :O) 2010 is a big year for me....I turn the Big 50, my daughter turns 18 and is leaving for college AND I am a sorority girl and I will be celebrating 30 years with those wonderful women. I have decided to do the Beaded Journal Project , making one piece a month for the year. I have decided I wanted a place to share and blog with those of you who have been doing this for years. I look forward to seeing all the beautiful work and hopefully gather information and tips to make it a TRULY WONDERFUL and SPECIAL 50th year !
