My Bio

I started beading a little over a year ago with my daughter.  It ended up that I like beading more than she did.   Since then, I have taught myself pretty much everyhing I do.  I have taken some classes here and there but find it quicker to learn by watching and reading. I contemplated opening a bead store which would of cost quite a bit but then the economy started sinking and I figured now wasn't a good time.  I do quite a few art and craft shows and teach everything I have learned to friends and family and sometimes I even get paidSmile

My favorites are weaving and wirework but don't do too much wirework because silver is expensive these days.   I am not much of a creative person in that I know nothing about jewelry design, but if I see something, I can easily duplicate and change it to make it my own.  I certainly give credit to all those creative people out there that make extraordinary things.  I love dragonflies, fairies, butterflies and orchids.

My favorite color is anyting purple...the royals, the orchids, etc., but I also love shades of browns and golds and anything that sparkles.  My favorite beads to work with are pearls and swarovskis but will buy pretty much anything if I like it.  I will be taking my first lampwork class January 30, 2010 and am looking forward to learning something new...who knows, I may end up being more creative with glassBig Smile.   My only dislikes is memory wire, plastic or acrylic beads.

I am hopinng that by joining this site, I will learn many things.  I have already met some magnificant people and hope to continue learning.

  • SWAPS

Bracelets:  My wrist size is about 7 1/4 for a tight bracelet and 7 1/2 -8 for a loose one.  I love thick bracelets becuse I am very tall with long arms so if I find skinny bracelets, I wear three or four.  Of course, if they are delicate bracelets, classy or elegant bracelets, I will only wear one to not take away the beauty of it.  I don't wear less than 7 bangles...superstitious thing with us hispanics.  If you are going to wear bangles...thin ones, never wear less than seven.

Earrings:  I love any kind of dangly earrings but I need to have either surgical posts or sterling silver...my ears are very sensitive to metals.  I can do brass for a while so feel free to put brass.  Heck, I can't even wear gold earring for more than 3 hours or my ears will turn as red as an apple.

Necklaces:  I would have to say I am very simple and love, just absolutely love Renaissance jewelry especially with crosses like the Tudor Era, Victorian Jewelry, etc..  I like anything with pearls, shimmerstones, turquoise, anything that sparkles, etc. The jewels the pearls the crosses.  Any size is okay except for chokers…though I will wear a short necklace that falls on my collarbone just nothing that wraps around my neck…they make my face look fatter than it already is…LOL….  I pretty much like anything simple yet elegant necklaces.  I will wear something really long and funky…I love wirework and chunky pendants that I can put on ribbons, etc.  My favorite colors are purple, black, reds, yellows, golds and browns but am happy with anything.  The only thing I don’t like is anything goldtone or memory wire.  I have no allergies except for my ears…the posts do need to be sterling silver.  Other than that really, I am game for anything pretty much. Good luck and let me know if you need anything else.  I hope this helps and don't stress out trying to figure it out.  I will wear whatever is sent to me!!!!

BDay/KK...my favorites are swarovski pearls and anything that glitters.  I have no preferences.  If it sparkles...it's for me.

  • Group Artbeads Orders.

I have arranged to place orders through AB to save us all not only on shipping but the cost of the items as well.  If we can reach the third tier...we are doing great.  Our first order will start FEBRUARY 18 ,2010.  Ordering every month will be quite hard so I figured every THREE months would be good.   Therefore, I will place orders again in MAY, AUGUST, NOVEMBER and FEBRUARY.  I will advise everyone what they owe once the order is placed and every must have their money sent through paypal before I will ship their items to them.  In the U.S., I will overnite the package...Intenational, I will send priority mail.    Note:  AB is able to offer us their best volume discount pricing on any item regardless of the quanitty we buy plus an additional 10% off that price.  The only requirment is that we would have to purchase at least $100.00 which will not be a problem for any of us, I think.

Of course, should different people want to order on the non-months, I will be glad to make arrangements to do so.
