Eggink, I start a small spiral and than molded it around a large bead.
I make many of these boxes in all sorts of sizes and shapes. There are some free instructions for the basic idea on my blog

Oh Mary! I am all out of words (which is highly unusual!) I adore wire work of all kinds and this just takes my breath away - seriously! Amazing detail, a true test of patience (are you an angel?) and gorgeous add on with the additional crystals to compliment this work of art. Kudos to you (is that term still acceptable?) I love it!
