I found these awesome pin back buttons on Ebay. Magic Hat Brewery is one of my favorite microbrews and this bracelet is a great tribute to it's playful caps and excellent beers.
Wow, this is awesome. Such a lot of work, and Magic Hat Brewery gets free advertizement! I love the way you made scalloped edges around the bearcap cabochons. And I would love to get some instructions on how to make one of these. Do you sell instructions?
Hi Victoria:
My goal this summer is to write instructions, I've had several requests. In the meantime, though, this is made primarily through bead embroidery, treating the pin back button as a cabochon. Sherri Serafini has an excellent book on bead embroidery that will get you started. If you decide to start a piece you can also shoot me an email and I'll help step you through it. The nice thing about a pin back buttons is you don't have to do any work to them. When I use bottlecaps, I flatten them first and pour resin in the well that's created to protect the image.
Thanks so much for your kind words and leaving a comment!
Christine
