beaded starfish - matte ivory - by heartinhawaii

my newest creation.

The starfish measures about 3 and ½ inches (about 9 centimeters).

Peyote and brick stitched using matte delicas, seed beads and drop beads.

This is amazing I have never seen anything like it.  Will you be publishing this? I would love to have a pattern for this at first look I thought it was knitted, but now I see it is peyote. You did a wonderful job designing and making this peice.

I don't have a pattern on paper, just in my head. I made it up as I worked. It probably wouldn't be too hard to figure out though.

(as long as you don't make a bunch and try to compete with me ...lol)

Basically, the different sized beads used create the shape of the piece.The detailing on the top is "freeform" brick stitch.

Thanks Janet! I think the matte sandy colored beads add to the effect.

So organic looking. It looks like a real star fish with the texture from the beads. A real art piece. Wow!
