I stacked different colors of vintage lucite and buttons to form the links.  Then strung on braided fiber to created the "chain".  Added a simple hook clasp and lump rings so the length can be adjusted.  All of the links are strung on beading wire that is woven invisibly through the fiber so that it won't stretch.

Dear Chris,

Your  beautiful fiber & button necklace is amazing. I have only dreamed about trying to make a necklace like yours. I started collecting beads long before I started to make jewelry. In addition to beads I collect buttons, all types, all kinds & colors. In the last 3 to 4 years I have also collected fiber yarns, ribbons & cords. As I organize my treasures  I wonder how to combine them all together to make beautiful jewelry. Your necklace  perfectly balances all your materials into a harmony of glorious colors, shapes, textures & style. Kudos to you for an absolutely great creation!

Chris,

finished my spring edition of your necklace and wore it to a reunion. I love it! I tried using the stringing wire but I couldn't manage it very well, so i cut a piece of siff stuff the finished size and shape of the necklace and wrapped it with the ribbons and yarn and sewed everything to it. I love it. If you would like to see a photo, let me know!
