Not only is the coiling technique perfect for framing special beads, but it also creates eyes below the frame from which to dangle gemstones. Originally Published in Beadwork August/September 2005.

Thanks for the free instructions! Looking at the photo on this page, I couldn't decide whether this was something I wanted to make or not. It wasn't until I downloaded the PDF that I coudl tell they weren't quite what I was looking for just now. Which brings me to... Why I haven't bought any of the enticing-looking PDF projects. The photos just aren't detailed enought for me to decide if they're worth my $4. Although there IS a SEE LARGER PHOTO option, the photo that comes up when one clicks this is no more detailed. So...in considering your business plan, consider that more detailed photos of projects might lead to better PDF projects sales.

I agree with kcalhoun. Many times I have clicked to see a larger image to be met with disappointment. There are so many ways to spend money - books, patterns.. I want to be sure I'm buying something that I can use. Whee!Zee

LouiseG and kcalhoun, you are so right. I have experienced the same desire to see a larger photo, only to be disappoionted with clicking on that option and being able to see more! Thanks for bringing this up.

Make the Pictures of Items in Projects Store Much Larger I also agree with those who have posted about this. You go to enlarge the image and a new window opens - with the same small sized image! This is rather frustrating if you want to preview a project image before you decide to buy the project. If you are trying to save bandwidth by having small images, it is penny wise, pound foolish. And if you are keeping the images small out of concern that many of us will just look at the images, see how the projects are constructed, then make them without buying the project, certainly some of us will, but many will not. Overall, I think you will get more persons buying the projects with large images of the projects. As with any piece of jewellery, we want to see details. I think many will agree with this.

I almost lost it when I saw these! They closely resemble a pair of earrings that were my favorites and I lost one. Now, years later, I am going to be able to make a pair! Thanks for posting this!

I agree wholeheartedly w/those who are frustrated w/small photo size. I think there is a way to open up and enlarge the photo using another type of file; if I can remember/figure it out, I'll post it! However, that's not very efficient even if I do figure it out... how much greater it would be if Beading Daily would have this shortcut embedded or posted as an option, automatically!! Personally, if the photo is larger and more detailed and I like the project, I would pay for the instructions rather than try to make them from just seeing them - that's not ethical. Plus it would be more accurate to create them the way the designed figured out how, and with the errors already circumvented!!
