I never have a problem either. But the site doesn't allow me to download without logging in, so logging in would be a given. I think the message you're receiving in an internet explorer message. I suggest that you try out google chrome or firefox for browsers and then try downloading. Firefox takes up more room on your computer and requires more of a commitment; however,it is better known. I am currently using Google chrome because I used to get those same types of IE messages saying that things were wrong with websites and sometimes I'd get booted offline. It was really annoying. With Chrome I believe you need a gmail acct, which I have, but that's no big deal. Anyway, you sign into gmail and then dowload chrome - it only takes a couple of minutes. I used to get error messages all the time and get bumped offline 7 or 8 times a day - now I never see those messages and never get bumped off line. To sum up, I think the problem is internet explorer, not this website. Try using a different browser and see if you're able to download. I hope this information helps you.

I never have a problem either and I am using internet explorer (I love it). Just a recomendation.. sign in putting your complete email, do not choose it from the scroll down (some computers record the emails you have typed) and putting the enter key because it is going to 'think' you are done without typing the password...and is going to appear a new window saying 'the credentials are incorrect'. Also, do not use the tab key for go to the password box..if you do that, happens the same about the credentials. Just type your email and click then into the password box to type it. Thats all. Then, appears a new page with the download link (next to a pdf format image), so click on that link and there is your pattern. I wish this help you.

All I got is page 18. Is that all there is? Are there step by step instructions that did not download? Got some instructions for other bracelets just fine. Hmmm? Perplexed.

All I got was page 18 also. What's up??

sootfoot5 - I too, have problems with the free downloads. I have firefox and can download a project just fine one day, but the next time I attempt to download I'm given the message, "user name invalid" or I'm not authorized. The username hasn't changed and the password is the same one they sent me the reminder of - it's frustrating. I guess there are so many people interested in the projects that it's causing a problem?

I teach this at the bead store I work at in Arizona. Try including triangles in the spiral. I also makes an interesting design. Size 11.

Judy and Carolyn: The article in the email mentioned "Download includes bead colors, quantities, and sizes, along with photos of finished samples, but no step-by-step instructions.", so page 18 is all you are supposed to get. BTW, I use Firefox, and have never had a problem loading the free projects. Perhaps it depends, as someone suggested that the site is just too busy to handle the traffic.

I made the Confetti Bracelet (Beadwork, June/July 2008) & the combination of beads made it somewhat difficult & too big to wear comfortably wear. Try using sizes 8, 11 & 15 seed beads instead; I think you'll be much happier with the results. kat

Okay, so I watched the video, and I STILL don't know how to do it! The tiny pics on the screen, combined with the wide shots instead of close-ups, and to many words that didn't help because I couldn't see what she was doing. I need diagrams to understand what to do - I get lost and confused when trying to hear (I am partly deaf) instructions without seeing the speaker. Please include diagrams and instructions with downloads, instead of sending readers off to view a youtube video.

hi everyone, ;this looks a lot like a russian spiral strap i just finished for the cell phone bag i was making.. talk about confusing... it took my maybe ten attempts before it started to look like anything other than a beading mess. here are the written instructions for those of you that are good at this sort of thing,,, i personally need PICTURES!!! =) anyway, here you go: step one start by stringing nine beads in this order, two 11s, one 8, two 11s, one 8, two 11s, one 8. create a circle by going through the first bead, an 11. step two pick up an 8 and two 11s. skip the next 11 and 8 on the ring and go through the following 11. as you are beading you will always go through the 11 after the next 8. step three pick up an 8 and two 11s and go through the first 11 after the next 8 as before... do this one more time to finish the row.. when you finish the row your thread will come out the same bead the tail is exiting... step four the row you just completed is the second row of the beaded rope. as you stitch gently pull the beads into a tube shape. to get ready to begin row 3 you need to step up, which you will do at the end of every row. step five to step up, pass your needle trough the 8 and the first 11 that you added in the first stitch of the round step six to begin the next row pick up one 8 and two 11s, skip the next 11 and 8 and go thru the following 11... as on the previous row you will always pass your needle thru the 11 after the next 8 you come to. to count your rows start at the end of the rope and count the 8s spiraling around the rope----not every 8 in the tube, just the spiraling ones. that is it! my understanding is that if you play with different size beads you should get something similar to their picture.... i think i'm going to try it... take care, cat.

cat - you're explaining a russian spiral. This isn't a russian spiral, so if folks follow your instructions, they're not going to get the finished product shown. Since this is odd count peyote, you won't be stepping up. If you read the top paragraph, all you do is tie the first sequence of beads in a circle and then add the same bead that your coming out of.

I had to read the directions for each spiral which tells you what beads to start with and then each step on, reading is the best way to learn.

for the folks having trouble downloading--usually there is a problem in your adobe files--log on to adobe's web-site & repair or update (or in really flubbed up files, purge & redownload). This cleared up all problems I was having with downloading from this site.

Hi everyone and greetings from Australia! I've managed to work out how to do the twisted tubular peyote spiral. YAY ME!!!! But can anyone explain how I decrease it so it tapers off as it gets up to the neckline?????? I'm happy to share the method if anyone wants to do it. I've also noticed you can buy the PDF pattern from Interweave and the instructions there are really clear. Once you've got the technique, there's no limit as to what you can do with it by varying bead sizes, colors etc. Have fun! I'm seriously addicted to this stitch!!

I learned how to do this tubular spiral peyote by reading ONLY ONE LINE in this page of ideas. Thanks so much for finally giving me the key to unlocking this technique (at least in my head). That statement is "pick up the same bead as the one from which you are exiting as you sew in peyote". Thanks thanks

Susan, you are correct, the trick to the spiral peyote is to pick up the same bead your are exiting. Most beading magizines have a discription for doing a tubular peyote, from those instructions pick up the first beads according to patten of your choice on "page 18" and work as any tubular peyote, picking up the same type of bead you are exiting. The beauty of this techinique is one can put the project down and pick it up again and ALWAYS KNOW WHERE YOU LEFT OFF!

What I don't understand is, why don't the owbners of the site correct any problem or let us know why only one page comes up. I have a web site and if there was a problem I would talk directly to my customers.

Hi, I can download only one page(18). If this is all the instructions to the bracelets, I don't understand How to start, What to do if/when started, Or how to end it, if once figured that out.

I'm really proud of my first spiral - it won first prize in a bead show in Sptember! Woo hoo!!!!! If you need help just yell, and don't forget you can buy the PDF from Interweave.
