I love this necklace but it's impossible to find the pearl focal connector anywhere. the link in the directions goes to a wholesale only site. :-(

I think fire mountian gems has a connector like it. Not the exact one though. Also do a search for mother of pearl or abalone shell and see if you can find one like it. Good luck

Thanks. I've done an extensive search under every keyword imaginable and there is no link like that in the picture. Fire Mountain's pearl inks are the usual stuff, nothing spectacular.

Try ebay, you have a good chance of finding it there.

The focal bead in this piece is not a connector. It is a bead. It is made up of shell pieces that are glued to the base piece like a mosaic. Try your local bead stores for this shell focal bead. The connector is a silver S connector. I am going to try and come up with another source for this focal bead. I hope this helps.

Okay, I did a search and found a very similar focal bead at There were some others that were similar in other stores. If you can only find a rectangular bead, this could be used instead of the oval. Or, if you found one in another color, such as the one at, you could use a different color for the pearls that would be equally beautiful.

it would be a good idea if the supply list included the source where the material were bought. it seems everyone is having problems. should anyone find that mother-of-pearl 31×37mm oval please do post again :-)

I tried to check out and only found a page with their class list and no place to search their inventory. Any ideas? Thanks.

I found a mosaic shell bead on shipwreck beads but it looks like it might be rounder than what is used in this necklace

Hi, try for larger focal beads.

If you want to be original, try making your own focal bead. Fire Mountain has a new product, Ferido, that is a cross between poly clay and epoxy. Design your piece in the color you want, then add crystals, MoP, or whatever you wish.

i found the pearl focal connector. It is from Tiverton RI. The name of the store is Wild About beads. You can go on their web site and get their phone number. you can call and explain exactly what color and size that you want. I shop there all the time and bought several different colors. They are super friendly. Have fun. Opps I think they might be on vacation until the 28th of February. But leave a message and they should call you back. Lots of luck.
