Fine Vine Necklace

I have been saving strands of pearls that look like little flower buds for the right design inspiration to come along. A slender jasmine vine full of pearly white buds seemed perfect. And here is my Fine Vine Necklace that drapes around the neck gracefully. Dumortierite and Cameo Pendant Necklace

Beautifully carved Mother of Pearl Cameo sways from a necklace of pearls and dark, rich blue Dumortierite.

The necklace is 19 inches long with a 2 1/2 inch extender chain. The Cameo pendant is 2 inches by 1 1/2 inches.

The rich, deep blue of the Dumortierite gemstone is the perfect complement to the soft, creamy white Cameo and Freshwater pearls.

While the Mother of Pearl Cameo pendant and pearls in the necklace serve as a homage to the Victorian period, the necklace also has a modern element in the use of the Dumortierite gemstones.

I love cameos. They are so graceful, elegant and sophisticated. They speak of an era of gracious living, afternoon tea and silk dresses. At least in our imaginations.

Victorian ladies discovered the delicacy and exquisite charm of cameos when they traveled to explore the newly discovered ruins of Pompeii. They brought these jewels back to England and they became an important accessory for the well dressed lady.

We designed this in the spirit of the Bones TV show. Emily Deschanel's character, "Bones" always wears stunning jewelry tucked neatly into tailored blouses. That look is a brilliant combination of professional style, with a unique twist.

We've added a little more to this - the length is just right for the "Bones" look, but with the extender chain, it is more versatile - wear it with a turtle neck sweater, or over a business dress; add it to a T or shell for a more casual look. Cameo, Lapis Lazuli & Pearl Sterling Silver Necklace

This is an absolutely brilliantly beautiful hand carved bone cameo. Obviously carved with the same skill and artistry that created fantastic treasures in ivory, but this is sustainable bone. And it is gorgeous! It measures 2 inches by 1 1/2 inches and has a 2 1/2 inch drop. The bezel surrounding the cameo and the loop are all sterling silver. This was hand carved in Bali.

The necklace is made of oval lapis lazuli gemstones and soft creamy freshwater pearls. Sterling silver glows between each gemstone and pearl.

The necklace is approximately 19 inches long with a 3 inch sterling silver extender chain and sterling silver lobster clasp.

The carving is of a woman surrounded by flowers and butterflies. The detail, of her face, her drop earring, her hand and hair, and of flowers and butterflies is extraordinary - obviously the work of a skilled master artist.

We designed this to be very versatile. It will fit within the neck of a business blouse, a la Emily Deschanel's character, "Bones, " in the TV show by the same name, or in the neck of a gorgeous cocktail dress. With the sterling silver extender chain, it can be worn over a turtle neck sweater for a more casual look.

Jade Dragon pendant with Azurite-Malachite, Pearl and Sterling Silver Necklace.

Beautifully carved bas relief Chinese Dragon on gorgeous deep red brown jade swings from a necklace of brilliant green and sky blue azirite-malachite and soft creamy white freshwater pearls. The dragon holds the the Pearl of Wisdom.

The pendant is 2 inches by 1 1/2 inches with a 2 1/2 inch drop. The necklace is approximately 18 inches long with a 3 3/4 inch sterling silver extender chain and a sterling silver lobster clasp.

The azurite-malachite is a natural blend of the two minerals, both found around copper. And it is absolutely gorgeous. The natural marbling of the blue and green makes for an extraordinarily magnificent gemstone. Creamy white pearls silver are the perfect complement.

The Chinese dragon is a sign of nobility and divinity. The five clawed Dragon is associated with the Emperor of China. It is a positive creature, not the sign of evil common to Western cultures and represents power, excellence, boldness, heroism decisiveness, optimism, intelligence and ambition.

I bought a kit from That Bead Lady, Cathy Lampole, for her Goddess Beads. (available at www.thatbeadlady.com) They are made with Swarovski Pearls and Crystals and very addictive to make. I made a bunch for Kristal Wick and then, Kristal bought the pattern and has been making them like crazy. Cathy is the person responsible for luring me in to the world of bead weaving! After making 5 Goddess Beads, I started playing around with embellishing the base in different ways. I love making beaded beads.
