It is made in Peyote Stitch: an off-loom bead weaving technique. Each added bead is “sewn” into place, producing a fabric of tightly integrated beads and leaving no evidence of the thread that connects them. I used white and red Rocailles. The pattern comes from Latvian folklore: it calls Auseklis or Morning star. Auseklis is a Latvian god, and the personification of the celestial body Venus. He is third most popular deity in Latvian mythology after Saule (the Sun) Latvian mythology after and Mēnes (the Moon). It’s used for protection against evil spirits.

This is my second completed project. I love the blue yellow color combination. This is done in a two and three drop square stictch with a sort of peyote stitch embellishment on the edges.

Azaleas Blooming- The Azalea one of my favorite spring flower is in full bloom here in the south, The vibrant corals, pinks, whites & lavenders with a touch of iridescent ambers make up this pattern, The picot edging just finishes it off. A beautiful combinations of pink. Done in Even Count Peyote. and it is 1.06 inches wide by 6.09 inches long, w/o end and clasp.
