Hi. I was wondering if any one knows of a program in another country, where I could immerse with a local family. I am looking to learn from them the way they make their craft, traditionally. I've seen small towns offering weaving and organic gardening, in return of your help with daily chores.
Please, let me know where I can look for this.
Thanks!
I don't know if this works for you or not, but there's a fantastic organization, http://www.BeadForLife.org that helps women (and a few men) in Uganda raise themselves up from extreme poverty by creating a global market for their handmade beads. I have necklaces and bracelets created by these women, as well as a bag of loose beads I've incorporated into my own designs. These incredible women purchase magazines at the local market and turn the paper pages into beads. I hope this helps!
Regards,Square
