Top one is a Bonbini Lily. Bottom is a Cherry Blossom. Yes, I'm allergic to Cherry Blossoms. But, I figured I already have bad allergies right now, it can't get much worse.
I have to say, I don't like how the Cherry Blossom came out, but it still looks good!

Cat, the petals are too long, and not round enough.
I'm working on a Hibiscus. I thought I would try to broaden my horizon (:
Very pretty! I love how you photographed that cherry blossom!
I share your desire to create flowers with beads, and did so many times, for cuffs I created. Your work is going in a phenominal place to see that the shapes of petals make a difference....I would love to share the Hibiscus I created....but I also want to see what you do with your great talent!
Beautiful!

I like the Cherry Blossom, even if you are disappointed with it. You already have far more patience than I would hope to have.
More Pretties!!!

Your flowers are so pretty I especially like the lily - bet it would look really good in someone's french twist.

Erin, the Hibiscus is frustrating me! I have the pattern all drawn out, and I made the first petal, but it just seems like it's taking too long..
There better be something good on TV because I want it done tonight!
It was funny, I put a clothes pin clip thing on my nose and held my breath when I took the pic in the tree!Luckily no one on the street was home!
I love the Cherry blossom! We have tons of trees here...they have been driving me nuts (allergies and I want to make pink beaded things...lol)
Great job....
Can't wait to see the hibiscus!

I like both of those Sydney. Is it very difficult to modify your design? Seems like you could leave a few beads off the end of each petal and make them curve the opposite direction (or turn them around when you put them together-not sure how you do it) and it would be perfect.

The pattern I created for my Hibiscus flower was a petal that is 'top heavy' or an 'upside down tear drop'.
Here are some photo cuts of my cuff, to give you an idea of what I did. Ofcourse,we all have our own way of representing what we see, so this is just to share what I thought was a good Hibiscus.
Oh, the only other difference might be that I loom my petals.....square stitch would be the same. I could also recreate that shape with peyote or brick, (better yet, maybe consider starting out with brick as the base and ending up with 2 drop brick for that shaped top), but being a loomer, I tend to create everything using my loom.
Sydney,
Both are really beautiful! I love the Bonbini Lily.
