Well, I survived! I didn't do nearly as well as I'd hoped, but I also didn't have enough items in the right price range. Everyone wanted inexpensive things for gifts (like $20 or less), and most of what I had was my higher-end items since I thought I'd have 2 more weeks to make extras. I worked like mad to make more things at the show (26 pieces!), and quite a few of them sold. I think the most any one person spent was $60, and those were for 4 pairs of earrings that I made on the spot (she picked out the beads).
I have ideas for more things to make, so I'm going to try to have lots of little gifty things for the next bazaar.
The organizers of this bazaar also managed to p*** off ALL the vendors this year. In previous years they collected all payments at one central checkout area and people brought their paid receipts back to vendors to pick up the purchases. This year they had vendors take cash and they had a central checkout for checks & credit cards. At the end when we had to total our sales it was a complete mess. Half the vendors had discrepencies, and instead of just having us pay our commission and keep the cash, they made us deposit all of it, then we have to wait up to 30 days for them to make an automatic deposit to our accounts. They didn't explain that beforehand, and people were very upset about it.
I'd still do it again next year if I'm invited back, though my sales weren't that good, but they'd better re-think their accounting! We closed at 5, and I didn't leave for home until almost 7:30. All the gals in the office were just tearing their hair out.
