healing thoughts - if I may ask

The tendonitis in my right elbow has not gone away and I had my third and final cortizone shot yesterday. If this doesn't work, my doc is talking about surgery and I really, really don't want to go down that road. It has me a bit down and I know that in the larger scheme of things, this is small, but I'm bummed. I would be looking at 4 weeks in a cast followed by 4 weeks in a brace and lots of p/t. (cast from sholder to wrist)

I am focusing on how it will turn out and trying to stay positive! I see this working, but a few others "seeing" would be great. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Oh! Courtney, Elbow surgery is not small. Please just know we will all be sending you healing thoughts.

20 plus years ago, I avoided Elbow surgery by making a few trips to the "Acupunture at a Chiropractor's office". It was painless, Compared to the Tendonitis in my Right Elbow, and I am Right hand dominate.

I will ask everyone I know that prays, to add you too their daily prayers.

May You be Blessed with Healing (quickly)

    Mary

Courtney - I know that surgery sucks ( we won't even discuss the PT ) but you really have to do what is best long term! UGH! Although maybe you can discuss waiting until after holidays etc so that you can your beading for Christmas etc.

Hubby had shoulder surgery several years ago and that was tough. It took almost a year for him to say that he was glad that he did it. Sorry if that is more depressing!

Just do what is best for you and do the pt etc as they tell you. That is the way to get the best results. Remember this is coming from the person how has 3 knee surgeries on the same knee and have been very thankful for each one!

Just keep thinking big picture and it will be what is best for you!

I know!  Should this be the road that I have to travel down, I would probably wait until summer (I work in a school) pain pending.  I am just such a baby, and it sounds painful! :) and inconvenient!  HA!

Ugh, I feel for you!  I have tendonitis in both wrists and I have good days & bad days.  ATM it's manageable without assistance other than a brace but don't know how long that will last.  Lots of good thoughts coming your way!

     Courtney,

Sorry I'm late getting here - I think you saw how my Oct and early Nov went!!  I kind of understand.  I went through de Quervain's tendonitis in my wrist/base of thumb in Aug and Sept.  If my cortisone shot hadn't worked, I'd have had surgery, too.  I hurt my elbow 10 years ago getting my then 1 year old out of his high chair - I hit it on the door frame - and was told 'tendonitis'.  When I was getting over the deQ's, it started bothering me.  I took more oral steroids and so far so good but we'll see.  I know what you mean about pain - I don't like it, it hurts too much!!!  Prayers for you!!

PS  FYI - the healing stones for tendonitis/joints are: magnetite and lepidolite and the healing metal is copper.  I made a bracelet for myself out of these stones/metal once I finally found out which ones were for that particular 'ailment'.
