Not sure if this will help or not but here is a link to a PDF with St. Petersburg variations, including one to form a "V" shape.  Good luck!

' just saw your post today, but if you'd still like some help.....

I am actually now working on a bracelet that I am doubling up on the St Pete's chain.  There was a great piece, a "stitch workshop", they call it, in the June 2009 issue of Bead&Button magazine (pg 24,25).  I am working from that and joining the 2nd "V" to the first to make it wider than that which is shown in the article.  ' hope this helps.

I guess I'm going to have to break down and try this myself sometime now that it's inspired everyone else. Surprise

It is fun and easy.  Once you get the pattern sequence, it goes very quickly and you can get yourself hooked on it.

Change the types, size or style of beads used (cubes, hex or regular seed beads).  Add on a 3 or 4 mm bead on the ends.  Color changes make each one look very different.  It's great.

Next try doubling it up with an extended zig zag pattern....when I finish mine, I'll try to send off a picture here.
