Congrats on two wonderful pieces! I think that they are both gorgeous however, I would pick the 2nd! I love the gun metal and blue is always a hit with me. I think that the smaller cross could be a good thing for this design. Anything bigger could be almost overwhelming for the piece. Just my opinion though!

    Again, beautiful work!

These are both just lovely! The fall colors are great, but I also like the gothic feel of the second. I just bought a bunch of black and gunmetal chains and findings to do something gothic for myself.... not a style I've ever worked with before, so I thought it'd be fun to try. Anyway, great job! Nothing like this kind of project to help you perfect your loops!. I did 12 necklace/earring sets for a wedding, half were simple loops like this, half were wrapped loops... my hands and fingers hurt for DAYS after all those!

Thanks everyone!  These were fun despite that fact that my hands hurt a bit after.  Wink  The smaller cross has grown on me a bit.  I think that it just wasn't what I was originally thinking when I went cross shopping.  :)  And that necklace actually sold!  It is the first of my jewelry (my non-fantasy art related jewelry).  Big Smile

I'm not surprised-it's a great necklace.  Do you mind sharing where you bought your gunmetal findings?  I have a few things but I haven't seen anything like what you used.

Thanks!  I got them through various Etsy sellers.  If you search gunmetal or gunmetal findings under the supplies section you should find quite a bit.  Smile

I guess I'll have to do some Etsy searching.  Darn, I just hate looking at beads & findings...Wink.  Thanks for the info!

Thanks!  I actually just bought some more supplies to make some more of these.  I have 5 more of the crosses, so I thought I'd make use of them.  Big Smile

Rebecca - These are wonderful.  I adore the leaf necklace - the colors are so perfect, like a beautiful autumn day.

Rebecca, they are both beautiful , I think I likethe second one the best, love the cross.  Getting ready to make rosarys for Christmas presents you have given me the inspiration that I need to get started on them.

I just made a pair of earrings with the brass leaf that you used as a pendant, I really like it.  Y necklaces are my favorite, I make a lot of them and they always sell quickly.  I love the colors you used in the first one, very nice.   I find the simple loops more difficult to make than wrapped loops, yours look really good, nice and even.  I've just started accumulating brass and gunmetal chains and findings, so I haven't done much work with either but I love the way they look.  Thanks for sharing your lovely designs.

Andrea I recently had a breakthrough on making simple loops. Forever I couldn't do them either but could the wrapped ones just like you. I got Mark Lareau's book, All Wired Up and finally sat down with the book, wire and round nose pliers. Following his instructions I finally got it and they are consistent! I would recommend the book just for that but it has lots of other great wire basics in it.
