IM SO MAD !!!!

I went out side about 12 in my time to check my mail ...
and one of my new amazingly stupid neighbors - had "stolen" my mailbox .... written his flat number all over it - and a sticker with his name on it.... 

I managed to get the sticker off (tho it flaked of some of the base color so I have a grey spot on my box) ... and dont mess with marker pens - GIRLS HAVE NAILPOLISH REMOVER!!!

But I still am absolutely furious that someone can be so stupid they move in somewhere and cant bother getting a mailbox so then take one that is allready there.

Is it just me ... or is people just getting more and more rude?
And this is not the best way of starting a nice neighbor relation .... THATS FOR SURE ....

I can't believe someone would do that!  Well, I guess I can, but good grief!  It just floors me what some people will stoop to, and it's usually such petty stuff.

Has the person noticed that you've reclaimed your box yet?  I guess you must not have locking mailboxes at your apt.  My first thought was what will they do with no key to get in it?

 In the US, we would report this to the Post Office.It is a crime to mess with mail boxes. so, I am wondering,How that works in Norway?

#1.I can send you a Mail Box? Are you allowed one that Locks?

2. I also, wonder what this person, can do with your contents that should go into the box?

Humm, I thought I had met the stupidest people on earth,back when I was a Property Manager.

Then Apartments,condo's etc, have always furnish the Mail box.

Im a true and complete hothead ... and I love to yell at people when they dont do what they are suppose to ... I might be small and sickly ... but I dont like people trying to step on me .... thats just fireing up the dynamite ...

I had one ... but padlocks + snow = rust .... and you end with boltcutters ... (not gotten a new padlock cause it hasnt been any problem - and the locks annoyes the mailman - and it would mean that I had to go to the post office for all my earrings and other shipments ...

That is rediculous!  I can't believe that someone would do that...ugh!  Out of curiousity, can you tell your landlord about it?  Would they resolve it for you?  And are they actually getting their mail in your box?  Man...sometimes people just suck.

It is a crime - mail boxes are private property.

Mailbox ? you mena the one at the postoffice ?? those cost about $80 a year ... kinda annoying when i dont technically need one. And atm I dont feel like paying for a year since I am planing on moving  soon.
I am allowed locks - but they usualyl annoys the mailman - and padlocks and rain/snow is not a good combo

Dont know - cause I have my front door 3 feet from my mailbox. So my mail usually dont spent to much time in the box...

And Mary thanks for the offer to send me a mailbox.... but I have a perfectly fine box, that is legal to Norwegian standard, so I just stand my grounds - its MINE ... and I will WIN!!!

here is a picture - you can see the grey "cry marks" where the nailpolish wiped of some of my old painted on name .... the big black blobb is where I tagged over my adress in the picture. Since I had to tape a note on it today... And the horrible grey stripe is where he had put his name.

 Oh I will complain ... dont worry - my landlord will most likely not do anything - but complaints are complaints .... enough of those and they are "bye bye" ....

Inca - Is there any mailboxes that have the slit in the top lid or in the front so that the mail person can drop the mail but you have to have a key to get it out? That is a thought. If you get to where you think you need that I can price shop here in the States and price shipping it to you. Just let me know!

Gypsy...You don't have to put your name in the box. If we know your first name, then we can address things directly to you or just refer to you as Gypsy, whichever you prefer. Just an FYI...

Like I always been told - I have way to much temper for little me.

And I got hold of the "thief" ... a "new country man" that didnt seem to understand norwegian, and while being busy checking out my boobs "Sorry baby your name wasnt on it" ....
BABY .... well that didnt help  ... I just basically told him and his friend that in Norway you have to buy your own box - and THIS ONE - is MINE...

 It is now - the Norwegian boxes have like 2 lids - one everyone can open and one that can be locked ... and mine is back at having a HUGE padlock. Nothing sais MINE as well as a big padlock...

Sounds to me, your landlord failed to do his/her job.  Our Postal Service does a pretty good job of prosecuting those persons that they can catch for stealing mail or damaging mailboxes.  In your case, you know who wrote on your mailbox, and who may have taken your mail.  Now the problem is, if you tell the postal office, will they at least 'investigate'?  Those are serious crimes in the USA.

I dont have like a "person" as a landlord - more an office.

And I think the biggest crime the "thief" is guilty of is being stupid ... and unfortunatly they dont get out in jail for that .... 
but dont worry I'm watching them ... they breath the wrong way and I will complain more.
