Beader's Challenge Swap #2-the JSmaz version

Since Inca's idea of a challenge swap seems to be a success, I'm going to propose a 2nd one, but it will be slightly different this time-part Inca's idea and part Lisa's.  Here's the plan:

Everyone who wants to participate will send any type of beads or components they want to me, and if everyone would also include about $2 to help offset return postage I would appreciate it.  I will put together kits out of everything I receive and re-send them to all participants.

You can make anything you want from it, jewelry or non-jewelry.  Once the kits are sent out I'll set a completion date.  You can send pics of your finished piece to me, and I'll post them all, or you can post it yourself, whichever is easiest for you.  There won't be any judging per se, just showing off the results of the challenge for all to see.  This is strictly for fun so anyone is welcome to participate.

The theme colors for this challenge are blue, green and yellow.  Any type of metal is fine if you want to send components or findings instead.  Black, white and clear beads are also fine.  I figured it would be easier to design around a set color palette instead of a mishmash.  Stringing material could also be included if someone has interesting ribbon, cord, colored wire or beading wire, etc.  Anything goes, basically.

I will give this a week or two for people to reply to this post or email me personally, and then I'll post the final list of participants so everyone will know approximately how much of their chosen item to send.  It doesn't have to be a lot, just enough that everyone can have a few of each item.  You can add anything else from your stash to complete the piece once you have the kit.

Pat and Lisa have already said they're interested.  Who else wants to join?

I only have one question .... who keeps the item/piece that is created. Do we keep "our own" or send it to you?

(sorry I couldnt figure out that on the info you gave)

Forgot to mention that-everyone keeps whatever they make for this challenge.  Thanks for mentioning that Inca!

     ooohhhh.... I'm interested!

I'll be gone all next week, so it might take me a little longer to get supplies off to you.

Jeni, this sounds like fun!   Please count me in.   Do you have a timeline in mind for this?   I'm particularly interested in when we'd have to have this done, as I already have some things on my 'to-do' list!  lol.

Well, I'm going to give it at least another week or so for signups (I know Lois at least will be gone till the 19th).  After that people will have to send items to me which is another week or two, then I have to put the kits together & re-send them.  So, it will probably be a month or so before we actually get started.

Jeni, I'm really looking forward to this!  I have to confess that I totally get my nose out of joint when I see a challenge in a magazine, but I'm not invited to join the fun. Embarrassed  This is WAY better -- everyone who wants to can participate!  Your chosen colors remind me of a sunny summer day -- blue sky, green grass, and of course, cheery yellow sun.  We've had a few of those in a row lately.  As I was riding my bike (no private vehicles here) to my jewelry shop yesterday, I slowed down a bit to feel the warm sun on my face.  There were only the barest wisps of clouds in the sky, and the palm trees waving in the breeze were o-so-green. Paradise  THAT's what I'll be thinking of when I choose beads to send to you!

    Have a beadiful day!

Sweet!  I hadn't even thought of where you were when I chose those.  My other thought was red, orange & yellow but we'll do that another time if everyone has fun with the first one.  I can just see blue water, green trees and yellow(ish) sand!

Jeni, the water here is blue further out where it's deep, but close to the island it's turquoise.  You know, that beautiful color you see in travel magazines?  It's really that color here!  (That was my very first thought when I first spied Kwaj from the airplane when we moved out here for our first tour -- it's really that color!)

    Have a beadiful day!

I know exactly what you mean Lisa!  That's how it was when I went to the Great Barrier Reef also-I couldn't believe water really looked like that.

I'm thinking already...those colors sound great (and so does the beach!)
