Need advice on how to attach pendant

I am making a necklace.  I love the basic design - it resembles berries that grow on the Greenbelts near my home.  The up-down stringing orientation is great for adding a tassel of spiral rope and leaves.  But not so good for attaching the spiral rope necklace.  I don't want to do a wrapped wire loop - it would look clumsy on this piece so I am looking for suggestions for how you would attach it.

You could make a loop out of beads, and attach it that way.

I love the colors you used, they look so pretty together.

I'll probably get slammed for this but I've done it myself: "Sew" the pendant from the back side to the rope?

I like the variety of of "Cone's" that I use for the Kumi ropes. They are so many sizes and I got some at Hobby Lobby or Michaels, that had leaf designs and were in a lot of different sizes.

just a thought
