I made these for my Valentine's day video. Every youtube bead guru made one, so I could not stay behind I thought :) Valentine's day is always special for me, this year me and my hubby are 3,5 years together. We will celebrate it in the Efteling, a theme park with a lot of rollercoasters here in the Netherlands :) Valentines Day is not a very very special day here, how is that in your country?

The silver one is made with miyuki, the gold one with toho. I like the shape of the silver one the most.

Have a lovely beading day,

Wow that is sooo pretty!  I would love to learn how to make that.  Is there a pattern for it that I could get?

Oh, they are lovely. I like them both. I can see why you like the silver one best but the gold one has more style. I'm going to watch your tutorial now to see how you keep the hearts in shape. Thanks again for your tutorials.

I love these!  I think the gold one is my favorite becase it has the best contrast.

The US makes too big of a deal, commercial-wise out of Valentine's Day, with the implication if you're not paired off or married, you must be defective.  I've always found that to be very offensive, since I'm not married and I don't think there's anything wrong with me.  I celebrate the day as it's supposed to be- a feast day to a martyred saint.

Honey Beads,  I love your hearts, nice job.

You brought back some of my very fond memories of my 3 1/2 years in the Netherlands. My husband was with the USAF at Camp New Amsterdam from April 1976 till Sept 1979. We often took our then young sons to Efteling Park. They loved all the rides there. Thank you for bringing it up. Big Smile

Happy Beading!!

These are lovely and it is nice that you have made them for Valentines day and it is special to you.

Here in the UK it is very commercial with cards and gifts being in the shops as soon as Christmas is finished. On that note there were Easter eggs in the shops on boxing day the day after Christmas.

It is lovely to have these days when people let each other know how much they love and care about them but why do we not do it all year round? I must admit my sales of heart shaped jewellery increases before Valentines and I am not complaining but it would be nice if people did not have to be reminded to let people know they loved them.

Yes, holidays are commercialized. But that's ok. You don't need to spend tons of money on decorations and give over most of your home for storage of them. You don't need to spend tons on gifts, either. But speaking for myself, I ENJOY the holidays, and i enoy the decorations. I also enjoy choosig gifts for others and I enjoy giving and receiving them. I don't spend tons, just little things. Like a box of hearts for a little kid. A heart shaped crumb top pie for after dinner. Silly little things. I don't know about others, but doens't it get boring just repeating the same patterns everyday? Get up, go to work. Get home. Feed people and go to bed. then get up go to work and do it all again, day after day after day..... Ugh. But the different decorations for the holidays or birthdays allow me to bling up the house, and change it out again in a few weeks, and I dont have to paint or buy furniture or anything! Like a mini vacation every few weeks! If we dislike the commercialism, we can just ignore it! That's what is nice about freedom.

Making a special day with the partner like you do is great! In Germany lots of people celebrate the Valentine, it came over from the americans :)) and everybody is loving it for a long time. well i seem to forget... but as my boyfriend and i have to deal still with long distance relationship we have lots days like valentine, just because its so great to see each other.

Did i understand right, you made a youtube video how to make this hearts?

Greetings

Yes I did make a youtube video :)

I wanted to let you all know, I do read all your comments. But I don't always know what to say back in english :)

I agree that the valentine's feeling should be there every day! But that is just like the feeling of Christmas. I do my christmas house American style, with the big colerfull tree and such. It is hard to find any good christmas decoration out here. I hope some day alle the American holidays will be big here to. I love Christmas :) Emmmm... how did I come to Christmas again :P

Sounds like fun.  It's spelt: w-r-e-a-t-h, wreath.  I just finished designing a triple strand purple necklace to wear when Lent begins the following week with Ash Wednesday.  I'll have to start thinking about my Easter design right away.
