Dangling Disks Necklace

After a hefty struggle I managed to crochet with beads! It's like with peyote: the beginning is hard and then it's Zen afterwards. I love the effect.

I wanted a collar that went all around but the crocheted (is that a word?) cord couldn't carry the weight of the disky part. So I had to find a solution to this problem. I made square stitch bands that now carry the weight of both cords seperately.

Another new thing to me are the metal rings. I had to use them because the disks wouldn't hang nicely with beaded ropes. So here it is.

Greetings from SeaBeads.

Nice work!  Looks like it would be comfortable to wear Big Smile.

I love this necklace it is a lovely piece of jewellery that has an ethnic feel with the design

I like how you have added the discs with the jump rings and I am sure that when you wear this you are going to get lots of nice comments.

I also like the way you have displayed your jewellery for the photograph.

The way you beaded is is really nice!! Colors you chose are close to each other, well done!! Big Smile

I guess it would be perfect for a long dress full of ethnic flavor!! :)

I love it, Karin!  It brings some warm sunshine into my cold, miserable existence!Sad  Right now, it's about 25°F.  The wind chill makes it about 12°!  I need a nice, warm tropical island, waaaaaaah!Crying

It looks very beautiful, but I want to know what it is used for. Is it a bracelet  or just a decoration for this big object. :D

I believe it's a necklace -- the 'object' is being used to 'showcase' her necklace (what stores do to show their products) and very well done, too.
