In oriental culture, people prefer to braid string bracelets to express their sincere wishes; they believe these Chinese knots originating from ancient time and old religion have kind of marvelous power to help themselves against something bad and evil.so when my best friend's birthday comes, it will be an awesome idea to make her own string bracelet with the Chinese knots.
It's cute! Actually, it reminds me of a carrot. (lol)
Isn't the term "oriental" offensive to Asians?

@wanting I don't want to offend but are you Asian? I only ask because my daughter is very interested in the Japanese culture and plans to attend college there. She started teaching herself Japanese when she was 12 and now in HS she is in her 3rd year of formal training in the language and writing. If you are can you please share more of your culture with us. Even if you are of another Asian race, I love to see things done in other countries, especially when it is from the past. Thx so much for sharing with us.
