How do I pronounce this word? Is it Tile-a? Is is Teela? or is it a short I like pill? All of my bead friends say it differently and almost apologetically. We'll say, "Oh, that's made with tila's, or tilla, however you say it". I say tile-a, because the beads look like little tiles. Also because I've always heard that a single consonant after a vowel makes the vowel long (in most cases). Therefore tila pronounced tilla would have a second "L" to make it a short "i". And it could be a case of potato potahto. Y'know?
Can anyone help me?
