I've just spent a frustrating couple of days trying to find a suitable thread to re-knot a beautiful strand of vintage beads Deep breathing lots. The holes were different sizes, which didn't help.I love knotted strands ... the feel and drape is so much more tactile than beading wire. But I haven't found a thread that works with non-pearls (i.e. with larger holes). When I see vintage strands, I get the strong feeling that I'm missing something easy, and those vintage knotters would be laughing at my confusion Silk stretches, C-Lon is ok sometimes, but the knot is tight and small. Crochet thread sometimes works.
So ... my question is obvious, yes? For those of you that use thread and knotting to string beads, what thread/s have you used and what do you recommend? Thx, Ruth

I use the silk that comes on little card, they already have a needle attached. they come in different colors and different sizes. You may need to use a double strand which would make a larger knot.
I have knotted semi precious beads with this thread in the heavier weights.
Hope this helps
Happy Beading!!
