I just completed my first beaded bead.
With the help of beadaholique's twin beaded bead video I finally got a beaded bead completed that wasn't a total mess. Yeah!!!
I usually get so confussed with the thread paths and my beads...well the don't come out a bead. Who knows maybe with this one under my belt, once I know it really well, I'll be able to give more beaded beads another try.
...Maybe.
If I can get my photo program working again I'll try to post a picture tomorrow.
Have a great evening everyone.

Good job! I've tried doing a few beaded beads for a pair of earrings, but they didn't sit right on the headpins. (Frustrating!) Oh well, I'll just have to keep practicing. Can't wait to see a pic.:)

Do your best & let God do the rest
xXFantasyXx- I soooo get the FRUSTRATION.
I think I may have spoke too soon.
I decided to move from in front of my computer after completing a couple of beads and moved to my bead table. I thought I had a good understanding of the pattern.
Well, somewhere between the computer and my beading table that "understanding" went out the window. I could not get a single beaded bead completed once I moved. I tried all night. I think the beading gremlins found me and decided to have fun in FRUSTRATING & CONFUSSING the bejeebers out of me. *L*
So, I'm back in front of the computer trying again. I don't know which is more frustrating never getting a pattern to work or getting it to work and then trying again only to get it SOOOO wrong.
I'll be spending the next several hours in front of the computer trying to get my beaded beads back on track.
Hope you have a great weekend everyone.
Hurray!
Look forward to seeing it!

Oh, I know what you mean about thinking you completely understand a pattern, trying it again, and find out you were completely wrong! Oh those pesky little gremlins why can't they go away Haha!
But, I think it's more frustrating and (depressing) when I can't get a pattern to ever work
Hi Ellen,
yes don't give up, being stubborn gets allways rewarded in that case :).
just got a question, you do it with pattern, that does mean with a design and more colors right?
Just wondering why don't you start with beadbeads in only one color? i am at this stage at the moment and it worked out so far, though i had again not the right material, different size of beads.
What tutorial do you use?
I am trying this one at the moment:

Oh sorry just have seen you allready told about which video you used and that its with twinbeads, can't look at it yet, got to get a update. But maybe you like the tutorial with seeds beads also....
Just looked for a tutorial for beaded beads with twins that i have got, it was a freebie, but its removed, doh.
Happy Beading

May the beads be with you!
Aunty Akoya: just got a question, you do it with pattern, that does mean with a design and more colors right?
Yes, I did it with a pattern, a video, actually from beadaholique it is their twin beaded bead. There is in this particular pattern only one color used.
Aunty Akoya: What tutorial do you use?
http://www.beadaholique.com/t-video-How-To-Make-A-Beaded-Bead-Using-Twin-Beads.aspx This is the one I used. (I didn't make a live connection since it is a video)
I have found that twin beads must be culled(sorted) very carefully or they will throw off the pattern as they are not uniform. And I also have found, the hard way, that not all the holes are the same size. These are the type of things that are causing all the frustration. I think I've got it all working right only to find that a single bead several stitches back is shaped wonky and I have to rip it out. I HATE to rip out.
The pattern its self isn't really giving me anymore problems. With all the ripping I've got that down pretty well. It's just the beads themselves. I just can't see all the flaws in them and don't find out that they needed to be culled until I've already got them in the bead and coming back around to them to connect up with the other stitches. Then the flaws are glaringly obvious.
Oh, I won't give up. It's not in my nature. Anyway, I want to make at least 2 so that I can use them in a pair of earrings at least.

oh you there, just edited my post on top... yep i had that with holes which are not all the same size too :). think i needed 4 beads until one got as it should.
If you buy Superduos instead of Twins, the sizes are much more regular.
