I'm not sure what you mean

Something like this?

This is bead embroidered peyote stitched with size 11's and 15's.

This is bead embroidered with size 11's and size 6's. Both are flat backed cabochons.

Or a you wanting to weave around a stone that is 2 sided? There is a "HOW TO" by Jen in the blogs section for a RAW bezel. Here is the link.

http://www.beadingdaily.com/blogs/beading_instructions/archive/2012/04/16/make-a-cabochon-bezel-with-right-angle-weave.aspx

Hope this helps.

When you get your piece finished I hope you will show it off in the Reader Showcase. We LOVE eye candy.Wink

Yes, Sellen just like that but this one both side of cabachon is convex (slightly dome), not flat.

If it's flat one side will be a bit easy to work with.  I never work with both side convex.

How to beading the bezel for this dome cabachon???

Okay

Click the link I gave you in the other post and it will show you how to do a RAW(Right Angle Weave) bezel.

You can also do a Peyote bezel here is a link to instructions for that.

http://www.fusionbeads.com/Peyote-Stitch-Bezel  they also have another one on Right Angel Weave in case you want it.

Hope these help.

I can't give you an exact number of bead of beads.

But here's a tip that may help. Take a piece of painters tape or tape that has a weak adhesive to it and wrap it around your bead.

When the two ends of the tape meet cut the tape there. Then remove the tape and tape it down to your table or beading mat. This is how long to string your beads so they will go all the way around your bead.

Hope this is of some help.

Hi Sellen,

I did follow your advise with the tape and  40mm I need 100 delica 11/0. I string for  three rolls.

Questions for next roll:

1. Can I use delica 15/0 mix with round 15/0, by string 1delica, one round all the way? Do you think this will work?

2. Do you think 15/0 declica will cut into fireline or should I use round 15/0?

thank you,

Do you mean delica 15/0 mix as in different shapes of 15's like bugles, drops etc. or do you mean a mix of 15/0 in different colors?

If your round 15/0 rounds are not from the same manufacturer there could be a problem with how they fit in with the delicas. They may not weave together properly. You would need to do a real thorough job of culling any beads that were not the same size and shape. For instance  I would not use delicas and Czech seed beads together they just, IMOP, would not weave together properly and your bezel would be wonky.kwim? Hmm

I use them with fireline all the time and have never had a problem. The only beads that you really need to worry about cutting fire line are crystals. Czech or Swarovski as they have sharper edges than most any other bead. Or at least this is what I've experienced.

I hope I haven't confused you. If I did just shout out and I'll try to clear anything up.Big Smile

@ The first question:

I finished 3 rolls of delicas 11/0 and get ready to use 15/0 Japanese (Czech) seeds (not sure) to close but I have size 15/0 Delicas.  Do you think  can I use size 15/0 delicas, instead of 15/0 Japanese seeds to close?

I am not sure if you understand my questions, or maybe confuse you to dead!!! Sad

I might have to take picture to show you or try it myself, all I have to do just take a part.  If it doesn't fit I should quit!

Priya..

Ps  How many rolls should I go around on 11/0 delicas before 15/0 cause it doesn't cover the chip on cabochon, and right now 5 rolls?

What is happen if I have more 5 rolls on 11/0 delicas?

RuthF- You're Welcome. But, I can't really take credit for the idea I got it from some of my wire wrapping books. But it does help alot.

pwong2:

Yes, as delicas are Japanese seed beads. (Techniquely they are cylinder beads but they are Japanese.)

pwong2:

Don't quit.

Alot of this is just trial and error but that is how you gain experience in the craft. No one does it perfectly the first time.

The best I can say is with the 5 rows that you have now try and gauge where 5 more would hit on your bead. Does it cover the chip?  You may realize that you only need 2 rows more of your 11/0's. But if you do need 5 or so more rows and  you don't like the way the 11/0's look in that many rows you can start adding your 15's until they cover your chip. It's really your personal preference.

There just aren't any hard and fast rules. As I said it's mostly trial and error. What you like what you don't like.

Now, there maybe another way to cover your chip. You could go ahead and finish your bezel then embelish the bezel with leaves or flowers to cover the chip. I haven't done any like that myself yet but have seen some done that way and they were very pretty. You could also glue a rhinstone or flat backed crystal to the chip to cover it if you don't or can't cover it with the bezel its self.

I know this must be frustrating but keep working at it. If you need to stop for a bit and start something else do that. You can always come back to this later.

Wow...really good advice...I love you already and no I'm not quitting that easily.

Here is the pic of what I got from my girlfriend necklace.  Red bead is the chip location.

The story of this was my girlfriend likes to go garage sale and she bought this for $1 or $2 but she wore it one morning and the string (fishing line) broke.  (40mm,  31 mm, 25mm, and 20mm)

She handed to me to repair (restring) but I can't  restring because of the chips so I want to make it different to cover the chips and here I am.  I will try to finish the whole necklace and send you pic.

LOLBig Smile

I think that happens to all beaders at some point.

At least she had all of the beads or at least most of them. I've had some where 1/2 the beads were missing but they wanted me to repair it. Hard to do when you don't have all the beads.Tongue Tied

You're doing a really good job on the bezel. It looks nice and neat and well stitched.

I look forward to seeing how you finish it.
