Hey all!
I was at the Quilt and Craft show on the weekend and bought some cross stitch patterns that I want to covert to delica beads. I have got that really good chart from fibergypsy.com and have gone through and marked most of my colour changes, but my problem is the pattern calls for dmc floss 155, 159, 160, 161, 168 and 169 but her chart starts at 208.
I have searched for other coversion charts online but I can't seem to find any that start in the 100s. Does anyone know where I can find one? I may just have to go through a delica colour chart and fine the closest matching colour.
Thanks in advance!

Alternatively if anybody doesn't know where I can find them, does anybody here do cross stitching? If you do, and have any of the colours numbered in the 100s, could I be able to get about an inch of those colours so that I can match them to the bead myself?
I am happy to pay for the strands/postage costs.
Thanks
Emma
Not sure if I have the right numbers... but I will check my floss stash and see.

I have it and it took me a while to find it online, but I managed. Here is the web site address for you.
www.fibergypsy.com/threadlist/db_dmc.pdf
Hope this works as a hot link. A pdf window will pop up when you click on this link, it will be the chart.
I didn't finish reading your thread before I posted this chart. I guess you already had that.
Happy Beading!!

Took a look through my floss and No luck didn't have the right numbers.
But I did find this site http://www.camelia.sk/dmc_1.htm
If I hot link it it wipes out the _ in the addy. This site has both the number, name and color "swatch" .
#155 Forget Me Not Blue,#159 Petrol Blue Lt, #160 Petrol Blue Med, #161 petrol Blue Dk, #168 Silver Grey, #169 Pewter Grey
I hope this helps.
Sue - as mentioned in the first post, the chart from fibregypsy is the one I use, but her numbers start at 208, she has nothing below that number but thank you for looking
Sue Ellen - thanks for trying with the threads. I'll have a look at that site but I do't think it will be the same as matching colours in person.. I don't trust computer images.. lol
Hi Emma,
I have a lot of cross stitch thread packed away, but it may be awhile before I get to them. I am in the process of organizing that stuff anyway, but not positive when or where they'll turn up. It shouldn't be more than a few weeks, and I'll be glad to send you any matches. I'm pretty sure I have some 100's but no idea of the numbers. They are sorted numerically, I remember that much!
Btw, how do you use the patterns? On cloth like traditional cross-stitch or some form of beadweaving?
Hey Cat,
I'm in no hurry for them, when they use like 124,000 beads, I need to build up an inventory of delica beads first! Lol.
If its a small cross stitch pattern, I use square stitch to stitch them together. Otherwise, for the larger ones, I am planning on buying a loom to loom the really large ones, otherwise they will just take FOREVER to do..
If you do come across them in the next few weeks or so - again, don't go out of your way to find them, I can be quite patient sometimes lol, but I would greatly appreciate it if you could send me some samples.
Thanks!EmmaxXx
You could buy a skein of floss at JoAnns or Michaels and take it to your LBS to match the delica. The floss isn't expensive, about $.33 I think.
Peg
Hey Peg,
Yes, that is going to be my initial plan. Great minds think alike! Haha! I don't live in the states, I'm in Australia. I don't think we have a JoAnn's or Michael's here, but I get what your saying. I was going to go and have a goosey at our craft stores on the weekend and see what they have.
I just assumed that the threads were sold by the handful, or 'x' amount of strands in a packet. I only need a small snippet
Jill Oxton ( Cross Stitch and Beading ) sells A DMC color card. You can go to her site and email her.
Hopfully she will have what you need.
