Hello, I am trying to find out if there is a name for this certain technique, I used to have a few bags like this where the beads are either glued or melted onto the cloth and was hoping someone would know anymore about this technique, if it has a name and how it is done. I have mainly see it on tourist souvenirs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi!

I took a look at your link and I know what you're referring to, but I always thought that was an industrial process?  I've never seen that type of thing practiced as a craft....nor have I ever seen supplies to do it. I may be totally wrong, but I'm inclined to think the "beading" on the purse is industrial, and not a handmade thing. Since the purse in your photo is an Israeli souvenir, you might want to hook up with an Israeli beading forum or an Israeli vintage and antiques forum and ask if anybody can give you more information.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help!

Andrea
