Hi Billy - for some reason, I cannot get a map on screen ... I've created a profile on frappr, but can't do anything with it! Is there something obvious I'm missing, or am I just being a dumb Brit, lol

    Billy,

My name doesn't show on the map with my pin in MN [Lakeland].  How do I add it?  Or do you have to do that?

Anyway I love the whole map idea.

Keith, once you are signed in, you should be able to get into my map with no problem. The name of the map itself is, "My Beading Daily Map" and it is identified by the code "mapid=137440663888". I would think just typing the name into the search box would get you there.

As to why you can't see the map, I don't have a clue. I can see it with both Internet Explorer v7 as well as the newest version of Firefox. It should work on the AOHell and Opera browsers as well. Unless your firewall program is blocking it for some reason. I can't see why it would, but you never know. Try again and see what happens and let me know.

     Billy ;o)

Edit: You may need to cut off any popup blockers that youmay have on. That could be an issue as well. ;o)

    Re: Map of members?

Stan, you have to do it. When you click on the name in the list or on the location dot itself, a little window pops up with your info on it. You have to be signed into the site and then you have an 'edit' button in that window. Just click edit and put your name or any other incriminating documentation that you want on there. Just be sure to save it afterwards. I did a bunch of things to my profile and then forgot to click the 'save' button. I just thought that I would save you that sinking feeling. *laughz* In my defense, the 'save' button is only like 3/16" high and 3/8" long. That's pretty small for such an important button. *grinz* That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

    Re: Map of members?

Sue, I put mine in by Zip Code and it got the town right, but the actual map placement is a little north of my true location. I don't think that it is as precise as most of the new GPS Map Systems. *laughz* It's free so I feel pretty lucky that they got me in the correct county, even if it is 30 miles north of me. When you are signed in, you can edit your info at any time, you may want to play with that some to try and get a better spot a little closer to home.

Great pic too. I assume that the cat with the mini fro is your hubby, or significant other at least. *grinz* Don't take this the wrong way, but you look almost exactly like my Aunt Jo Jo(JoAnn, but you know kids and we never grew out of it *laughz*). That is wild, if you two were standing together, people would think that you were sisters or something. Her hair is a lot more grey(actually white) and your eyeglass frames are different. Those are the two biggest differences. Don't worry though, Aunt Jo Jo is probably my favorite of all of my female relatives. Not to mention that she can cook like no other. Only my Mom is a better cook than her. *grinz*

It's nice to put a face to the name ya know. It makes everyone seem closer somehow. Nowutimeen?

    Re: Map of members?

Thanks Billy I will try and play a little with it later.

Yes,  that cat is my best freind and hubby of 44 years. He doesn't like that picture cause he needed a hair cut, but didn't have time to get one before we went that week. He was  very involved with the Knights of Columbus and we were at the summer meetings at Tree Tops Golf resort( where they have the golf Million Dollar shot out every year). After the 4 days they have a semi- formal dinner and dance. We had just returned from florida the night before when we were on the road again for Gaylord, Mi where Tree Tops is located. His hair has always been very curly. We have women unknown to us come up and ask if they can feel his hair. He usualy keeps it real short.

No I don't have any problem looking like your Aunt JoJO. They say everyone has a twin and now I know who mine is.  You know she may even look more like me than any of my own 5 sibblings Confused all of which are sisters. I also have newer glasses since that picture was taken.

    Re: Map of members?

I have a first cousin that has very curly hair like that. He keeps his pretty short too. He also has the problem o strange women wanting to run their fingers through it. I getthat on rare occasion and it is usually from black women that I meet in locations while working on jukeboxes and pinball machines. It's odd, but middle aged black women love my hair. But that's okay, I love them too. *grinz* I was raised in the south, but i was from a upper-lower class income and we did a lot of farming and raised our own meat as well. From the time that I could walk, I played with, hung out with and even slept with them on sleepovers and stuff so i am one of the very RARE completely non-racist folks around here. I also went to a prodominently black middle school. I was one of about 20 white kids in a school of some 400 students. Racism goes both ways, you can trust me on that. I caught hell until I passed my 12th birthday. I was 5'8" tall and 180 lbs at 112, so I didn't have many more problems after that. *laughz* People are just people in my eyes and everyone looks different regardless of hair style, skin color, height, weight, etc, etc, etc.... I have even had 2 black steady gf's over the years. I was threatened by the KKK and all of that mess. It used to be really bad around here, but it's getting better, thank the Gods.

I normally wear my hair up in a ponytail when I am out and about, but when I am relaxing, I "let my hair down" as they say. *laughz* That pic of me was taken on the 4th of July. If you will notice what I have in my hand, it's a Bud Light in a koozie, and I don't remember my wife taking that pic. She took it with her phone and it came out awesome. My phone pics always look a little fuzzy. The phones are the same except hers is pink, so it has to be operator error on my part. *laughhz* I was blaming thephone for bad quality pics, but I guess it was me all along. *laughz*

The choker necklace that I'm wearing is a tigereye dragonfly as a focal and 8mm tigereye beads alternated with 6-8mm bone beads and little silver spacers. The one below it that looks like teeth is actually conch shell points with black lip shells in between to space them out. The claw comes from a raven and I have it on a black leather lace with short bone hairpipes and bone spacers as accents. It is all knotted to keep everything where it is supposed to be. Lastly, the chain is a silver 22" double french rope with a jade pendant with a crystal cut and a silver bail. I wear a very heavy copper link chain bracelet on each wrist and I have a tigereye and hematite bracelet on my left wrist and an ocean jasper and hematite bracelet on my right wrist. I also wear 3 "Hope" bands on my left and a single "hope" band on my right along with a copperoval that says "Believe" on it. I keep that to help keep me in the right frame of mind. Ihave an ocean jasper and puku shell anklet on my right ankle and 9 rings that i wear constantly. It's nice that you can actually see the necklaces though. They are nothing fancy, but i still like showing them off. *grinz*

Well, I have to go to town nowe and do some "work". got to pay for that new truck and insurence ya know.

    Re: Map of members?

    Hey Billy,

I did it I was able to move. Didn't take 2 men and a truck either.Big Smile Just put in the town and zip and it moved me. It is perfect. I actually only live about 4 miles miles form the the Ohio borderand about 7 miles form Lake Erie. So I would say the dot is now right on. Infact I went and zoomed it as far as it will go and the dot is almost right on top of my house.  That is what I say RIGHT ON. Now that is almost too scary.

Thanks for setting this up and with the help to get me moved.

    Re: Map of members?

It's starting to get there. We have quite a few members that are turning into regs, so they all need to get involved and see just how far and wide that we are spread. I'd like for Michelle to put the Interweave offices locations on there too. That would be cool. If you don't have or want to put a pic of yourself, put a pic of your work if nothing else. I understand that some people are shy and don't want to put their pic up for the world to see, so any pic, if it is nothing more than your avatar just looks betterthan those blank spots, ya know.

I just put myself on the map. I "lost" the photo I wanted to use. When I find it, I'll get rid of the cactus picture.
