Asking For Good Thoughts

I know that I have not been a member of the forums for  very long,  but I am asking all of you to offer up some good thoughts for me tomorrow.  I have a return visit to an eye specialist to get the results of tests done 2 weeks ago.  They have found an epiretinal membrane on my left eye - which is a scar type tissue on the surface of the macular area of the retina.  Bottom line, it can either be mild and have only minor impact on ones vision or in some cases can cause more serious vision problems.  So far, I am not having much problem, but the doctor will let me know what to expect when I see him tomorrow.  I am trying to be as positive as possible, but the thought of possible surgery to correct the problem if he feels it is required scares the heck out of me.  I am not seeing any real problems so far so I am hoping this is an indication of it being mild and not needing treatment.  My husband has to work tomorrow and is not able to go with me for moral support, but a good friend (and fellow beader) is going with me.  So wish me luck...

Best of luck-I hope it's the best possible result, but even if not remember that eye surgery has come a long way so even if you need it hopefully it will be an easy fix.  I'd certainly be scared too-I can't even put eye drops in my eyes.

I just wanted to thank those of you who offerred up good thoughts and prayers for my eye appointment.  Looks like they worked.  After additional tests on Friday the eye specialist determined that the problem was "mild" at this time and requires no treatment...just follow up in a couple of months to make sure there is no further escalation.
