I beleive they are lampwork beads. they are sparkly blue on one side and sparkly silver on the other. Realy striking in person.

Thank you for the well wishes. I am feeling somewhat better since going off the prescribed pain pills. I was able to eat a little last night that actualy stayed down. Now I should be albe to build my strength back up.

Beautiful earrings you got from Lisa! Great job, Lisa! What are the blue beads in the first pair? They look so sparkly. I love the second pair, too. Colorful and a nice idea! And sea glass! Yummie!

I have been promising to send pictures of the earring that Lisa sent me for the 2nd earring swap and I think it is about time I honored her with the pictures of the lovely earrings plus the box of sea glass she graced me with. I love the earrings and often pull them out to wear because I can wear them with anything.

Sorry it took me so long to do this. It shouldn't have taken me till I was down on my back but it did & I am sorry.

That makes sense Cat, red jade does come in a few different shades depending on the dye batch and is usually just gorgeous. It's pretty colorfast too.

Thanks Pam! I went to the LBS the other day to get a different chain for my charm bracelet and when I was there I asked about the strand. I was in a bit of a hurry but one of the ladies there helped me and then gave me lots of education on some gemstones. I didn't think I was ever going to get out of there once she started educating me!

The lady at the bead store told me she thinks they are dyed jade because they are opaque with some transparency or something like that. I thought they were pretty so I didn't really care what they were but I guess it is nice to know if I am putting them on earrings for someone else. I don't know why I kept thinking raspberry quartz, must have seen it somewhere....

Me too! Until these swaps, I wore the same two earrings for several years. I am getting such a nice selection now that I have prolems choosing which ones to wear. I do have something for almost any occasion now though. *grinz*

Isn't it nice though? I used to wear lots of jewelry before I had kids. Then I went into mom mode and I stopped wearing it. Now I find I don't have that much. A lot of what I had was costume jewelry from high school so it didn't survive LOL. So, now it's great I'm building up my selection again and it's fun to just dress up even a little. If I run to the store, I'm at least grabbing a pair of earrings to put on. And then I have my group therapy every Thursday evening and I get a little more dressed up, you know nice jeans and a pretty shirt LOL.

That's exactly what I thought when I opened them! They do have wonderful movement, and you're right about their being light weight. Love the colors! Now I'll have to find myself a watermelon tee to wear them with (not that I don't already have a few tops that I'm wearing them with, they're so pretty, I just want something that particularly goes with them, kwim?).

The pink beads are definitely in a shade I'd call raspberry. They're mostly opaque, although some light does shine through them when I hold them up to a light. They're somewhat cloudy inside, as many gemstones tend to be. I've never seen raspberry quartz before, but these beads look like what I'd imagine it to look like. Very pretty -- awesome job, Cat!
