Vilcat - I really like your designs. The Sodalite necklace in one of your earlier posts looks very much like a set I recently made!! I really can't pick a favorite - your designs are all great. I especially like some of your "tribal" looking designs. I do agree with Val and a couple of other posts - your prices are too low for the quality of work that you do. Even if you are able to purchase your beads inexpensively, you still need to pay yourself for your design and execution time. Keep up the great work and keep posting pix - love to see them.

I have been blessed to find beads and findings at ridiculous prices and have built up an immense stash (understatement), so my prices reflect that savings to the customer which is very much appreciated here in our small tourist dependent town.. We have seen a significant drop in tourism because of the high gasoline prices and poor economy, so the locals and lucky tourists that do come reap the benefits of the low prices.

Ps. The tribble necklace has been sold and I only have one of the mirrored earthenware beads left, so no more of that exact necklace, although since I make the tribbles myself, I will be making something similar in the future. :)

Those are beautiful necklace/earring combos! That being said, I hope your prices are covering cost of materials plus time. Some of those combos should be worth more than the $20 I am seeing.

I want the tribble necklace too!

Thanks Kathy!! M working on it for a while now but due to the wholesale shop being quite far from my home it needs time and day for me to go as i cant go alone... otherwise i would have completed my curtains (grumbles)

Fortunately, we have a small grocery store just down the road apiece. Wally World is about a 12-15 minute drive, depending on traffic. Most of our shopping centers are. Fortunately, Schwan's delivers out here, so I get a lot of my food from them. It might cost a bit more, but it more than makes up for the gas I have to use to go to town, and the less I drive, the better. They don't just deliver ice cream, y'know. Their frozen foods are excellent!

Did I mention there's an observatory about 3 mi. from where I live? Their telescope is AWESOME!!!!! I love astronomy.

Ha ha, rural is an understatement, it's 20 minutes to the grocery store and Walmart, which by the way is the only large retailer around.

By the way, the necklace you like is made of blue goldstone and copper.

Yeah, that looks like my back yard a couple of winters ago. My Westies like it, though. Zoe likes to dig tunnels through the snow. So does Mac. I see you're rural, like I am. Hopefully, if my brother doesn't go to FL for Christmas with his in-laws, we'll go to Virginia for Christmas and get away from all this nonsense.

Ugh! I too fear what snow amounts we will get this year....I hope it's not like a few years back when we had walls of snow on the sides of our drive.

I had to chuckle when I saw that you thought I took public transportation, where we live its not possible, what I meant was the school bus stop to drop off (in the dark I might add) and pick up my two teens.

Well, one of your pictures had a part of a necklace in it with graduated faceted rounds(or rondelles?) separated by gold spacer beads, and they looked like sapphires to me. I'm nutsola about blue sapphires because they are my birthstone.

I always wanted a Tribble, too! That's also one of my favorite eppys, my absolute favorite being "Shore Leave."

I'm learning how to do soap making, too, which is qiute practical. At last! Someone else who hates winter as much as I do! If I didn't have to do any of that stuff(except the bus part(fortunately, I have a car), I wouldn't go out either! I get sick and tired of subzero weather, and snow up to my eyeballs. We got off easy last year, which is why I'm scared to death we're really gonna get wailed on this year. I need to go find myself a nice little tropical island.

Val, which one do you mean...faceted sapphires? Oh, and the "tribbles" , funny. I always wanted a tribble, that was my favorite episode.

The tribble beads are needle felted beads that I made last winter during my winter hibernation (me and the bears, except the bears don't come out of hibernation to go to the store like me). :)

Every winter, I do a craft that is not jewelry making, it can be bead related, like the needle felted ones, or once it was rolled paper beads, or fused glass pendants, but it usually is quite different. A few years back I crocheted over a hundred market bags, and last winter it was crocheted catnip mice. This year it will be patchwork pocket scarves, silk scarves, some up cycled plant pockets and other sewing projects. I bought a large lot (5lbs) of kimono silk, and some sari silk, so I need to get the creative juices flowing. What fun!

doing other crafts keeps me from getting burnt out on the jewelry making during the long cold winter with too much snow ( I'm not a big snow fan since I don't ski, snowshoe, snow machine or other outdoor stuff). If I didn't have to go to the store, the post office (no mail delivery in our town), or the bus stop, then I wouldn't leave the house. :)
