Oh, that's a good idea! A small beaded rivoli with beaded points. It would be bigger than these beads, but it might be quite striking.

Sharon, are you sure that the hole passes through from one end to the other (on the arms)? To me it looks like the four leaf clover shapes are beaded and joined together and that the "star" may be added at the end by passing through the star in the middle to a star on the opposite side. If this were the case, you could perhaps use something like a Swarovski margherita (probably didn't spell that right), it wouldn't be points but it would be petals. You could also anchor it to the beads in the clover shape as well to be sure it stayed in place. Just a thought.

wow they are certainly interesting, aren't they. Perhaps you could fashion something yourself to use? or if you want a center, maybe a smaller sized, beaded bezel rivoli? or maybe a beaded bezel flat back if you can work with something that small?

I went to the site, but it just took me to a page of all of the necklaces. But I did not see any bead that you were looking for. Keep trying! I'll figure it out eventually :).

Caroline, I don't understand. Are you suggesting I have these pieces custom made? And which Chinese and Indian bead stores are you referring to?

My fault, I did not explain that very well. When I said the document or pattern was a PDF I assumed everyone realized the document can't be copied and pasted or changed to a jpeg. I bought several patterns from Claudia at Happyland.it and I fear it might be a component I can only buy in Europe. I have an email asking her about it, but I've yet to hear back. You can search some other online supplies such as the website established by Indians and Chinese, there are many jewelry and beads suppliers can provide custom jewelry, try to search them online.

Would that be a bead cap perhaps? How big would you say this is, and what is the bottom like? Is it concave?

Looking for a "funky bead"

Im not good at descriptives and unfortunately the only picture I have of this bead is on a pdf document, but here goes........

I am looking for a bead that is shaped like a star (looking down from above) with at least 8 branches. Each branch has a hole going through it at the pointy end from side to side (not top to bottom), and the bead is metallic, not glass. Though, at this point I will take it out of human flesh if I can find it!

I am using the bead as a center spoke for a four-leaf clover component.

If anyone knows where I can find something like this please let me know. I've looked at FusionBeads, Fire Mountain Gems, and all through Etsy (though in Etsy its easy to miss something).

Maybe there is even an alternative, if anyone has any ideas, please let me know.
