HELP. Where can I find strands of 10 mm silvertone daisy spacers. I last purchased a number of strands at a Florida bead show and I have not been able to locate either an on-line or actual Toronto - based bead supply that carries 10 mm strands.

Hi there -

I know there's alot of really talented bead stitchers in these forums ( b/c I've seen your pics in Reader's Showcase!) so I thought I'd clarify this.....I found a pattern for a beautiful peyote & square stitched bracelet and it's calling for 13/0 charlottes. As far as I can tell by the picture, they are used as sort of a trim on each end of the rows of peyote that are made with 11/0 cylinder beads (if that mental picture makes any sense!).

Is anyone familiar with these? Is it just the size that gives them the special name -- or does it have something to do with their shape, as well? I'm wondering if I can just creatively substitute 15/0?

Usually, the first time I'm trying a new pattern - I try to stick to the materials it calls for. I've heard the word charlottes before, but don't think I've seen them used in a pattern before this. Your input would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Looking for - Beading design apps for iPad

I've wanted an iPad for a while... but can't justify it. One thing I would really use is a beading design app like some of the ones they have for the PC (beadtool, easy beads, beadcreator). Things like that. I don't really need anything even that fancy. I mostly just want to play with simple peyote stitch patterns and don't need the exact dellica colors or all that jazz. Just little boxes in peyote stitch that I could tap and change color to work on simple designs when I'm out and about, waiting in the Drs. office or whatever. I thought surely their must be several of these, but..... I can find nothing. Maybe there is some art or drawing app that might do what I'm looking for, but I also don't really see anything that way either. I thought everything was going digital and that the iPad had an app for 'everything'?! Are there some beaders out there that make good use of their iPad from a beading perspective?

Glue for jump rings

What would be the best (and easiest!!) glue to use for jump rings??? They always seem to open and the charm slides through. I really like the Snapeez jump rings that snap shut, but sometimes I want to use a different sized one (or a less expensive one) Please advise. Thanks

I pierced two holes on my ears three years ago,it's very painfull but i still keep them for two months.However,my ears had never stop inflammation even after two months.I cann't stand the pain and give up finnaly.I really love the fashion earrings the other girls wore,and I have tried a lot clip earrings but they are so hard to wear and also make my ear painfull.Anyone can recommend some fashion clip earrings that can comfortablly wore?

Well, awhile back we were discussing patterns for puffy/3D hearts using crystal bicones, but I can't find that discussion.

However, I did find a FREE pattern, through the Michaels website. Here are a couple links for everyone:

pattern for peyote stitched starfish

I cut a pattern for peyote stitched starfish by, Dulcey Heller, out of magazine (I think it was Bead Style) a while ago and put it in my file books, I went to get it out as I had a super brain storm idea and found I only had the first page. This works fine until I start trying to get them all together then I seem to get lost. If anyone has this pattern or knows where it might be found I would truly appreciate the help. I just got a great idea of a new way to use them in something else I am making and now no complete directions.

pearls purchased have lost coating. What to do?

I bought several strands of pearls at a Gem and Mineral show, carried them by plane out to my daughter, who does beading. She was in the midst of a divorce, would not even look at them. When I opened them back up at home, again, I found the pearls had rubbed together in the package, and the surface of the pearls was marred, the plastic bag they were in had a sort of powder in it, and the pearls are ruined. What do I do? The next year of the show she did not appear and I could not question her about the quality of the product, or ask for remuneration. I have more than $200 involved, what can I do? I have her card, but I don't feel good about talking to her over the phone long distance, and her English is not good. Am I stuck? --

Slider bead?

I would like to find some VERY LARGE hole beads for scarf jewellery and pendants. Probably needs to be lightweight because of their size, minimum 15mm hole, prefer larger so the scarf threads through? And some of those very large end caps, too? I would prefer wholesale, but I'm a little out of my depth ... I'm not sure what to call the beads I'm looking for, so I can search, or ask *sigh*.

Stronger magnetic clasps for bracelets???

The magnetic clasps I have used come apart if I do the least little thing, like taking my coat off. I guess a bracelet gets more of a work out than a necklace. Do you think these clasps are only meant for necklaces???Please let me know if there are magnetic clasps than work for bracelets. Thanks ahead of time.
