Briggs was bad and still hasn't sent it... I'm sorry. I was so stressed about my exam that taking the time to switch stuff in and get it ready to post was overwhelming... Not that it would have mattered... I put a lot of time in preparing for the exam and didn't really feel like it paid off in the end. I'm going to get everything in there tonight and mail it after work tomorrow - I PROMISE!!

I was just thinking about the swap yesterday. So I decided to ask the where abouts of the swaps at this point. The last word I heard is that Jeni had not received the package as of the day she posted, and Briggs had received one and was going to post it to the next person over the weekend.

Briggs, do you realize that you just wrote the 600th post in this thread??? I think we've (long since?) broken the record of the longest thread on the BD!

Well, if it was just the corner that broke open, stuff would not have fallen out (unbeknownst to your postal workers) since everything was encased in the bigger ziplocs, but it sure was nice of them to put it in a plastic envelope. As Lita can attest, the U.S. postal workers wouldn't be that nice!

I don't know why it took so long... customs is probably backlogged with the crazy Canadians buying Halloween costumes online... lol. I was one of them, but my stuff got to me in 7 days... it might have come late because the actually bagged it in a huge plastic envelope thing... I guess a corner of the envelope got damaged and they were worried about stuff falling out. Not too sure, but at least it got to me! I definitely had fun picking things out of there!!

Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to send the package out yet.. I'll get it ready to go this weekend!! Happy Halloween everyone!

Hi everyone!

I received the package.... I believe it was Thursday or Friday of last week... I've been MIA since I have a huge exam next week and have spent every spare moment studying. Not getting much sleep and drinking too much Tim Horton's! I've still got to figure out what to replace the things that I took out of the swap, which I'm hoping to do tomorrow or Thursday. Hopefully I can get it shipped off Thursday.

Concerning the whole color combo thing, I think that kids especially don't really understand or care about all the "rules" conerning what colors go with what. My son who is almost completely color deficient ( sees only black white & gray correctly ) painted some of the most awesome paintings when he was in school. Colors that shouldn't "go together" but are beautiful! It is really weird but amazing! LOL!

I have seen pieces of carved glass in bracelet kits at Hobby Lobby. Are those along the lines of what you are talking about? Those were not in the bead swap package that I got. I have thought about buying a couple just to see how they work. Might just have to try that.

i figured the curved glass would make a great bracelet, but i too passed on them to grab something else.

I liked those glass curved beads as well. I started to swap them but ended up passing on them. I should have kept them because I had some good ideas for them.

I saw those curved glass beads at my lbs and thought they were so pretty. I couldn't think of how to use them, but thought they'd be perfect for the swap package! I think my own daughters often come up with better color combos than I do. I think they're just naturally creative at a younger age.
