crimp size/beading wire

Does anyone else have a problem with the crimp being too big for the size wire that they say to use for that wire?

Earring swap feedback

Hello!

First, let me say I really enjoyed participating in the first earring swap, sending in two separate packages with a pair each, and would gladly do so again if another is planned.

Here's the feedback: I received back one pair I had sent in. I'm not sure how this happened, but it's sort of funny. One suggestion for avoiding this in the future: separate the SASEs from the incoming earrings before making another determination.

What fun and anticipation to be apart of the Earring Swap. Received my earrings yesterday, Samantha R you do absolutely beautiful work! Hammered Silver, Wire work with pearls. I LOVE the earrings!!! I would have picked these out for myself if given the choice. They will be worn often. Thank You!

Visiting the web info your provided www.sterlingcrystal.etsy.com was also excited to find out that my new earrings journeyed all the way from Australia. Cool!

Site HiJack attempt?

A heads-up on a possible 'hijack attempt':

I would click on Beading Daily in my bookmarks [Firefox] and the forums would flash on my screen, and be replaced with a blank page, containing a 'box'. In the upper left coner of the box was a tiny box with something in it. Upon clicking on that tiny box, I was transferred to "My Bead Barrel" (Or was it "My Beading Barrel"?). I finally typed in the basic URL [beadingdaily.com] and eventually got to the forums again. I have since deleted te BD bookmark, and then reBookMarked it. Hope that settles it.

OOPS! Tried to go directly back to :Forums" and same failure -- had to re-eat p0rocedure to get back here.

Thank you for fixing the problem we were having navigating the site. And if your techs didn't maybe they got enough negative e-mails. I hope all the 140 thousand some members bombed their e-mail box to the point of distraction.

I am so glad we can get back on BD without the ugly face of the hi- jacker showing up everytime we tried to read something.

This is not the proper way to win people over to their site. It only angered me to the point of sending them an e-mail and telling them in no uncertain words that all there were acheiving was angering everyone.

Jewelry storage

I bought a wooden chest with brass fittings on the internet. It has four drawers, 1 and 1/2 inches deep and a 2 inch deep compartment on the top. All are felt lined. I believe it was marketed as a storage chest for some typically-male sport (fishing or hunting). I keep jewelry of a different color in each drawer. Of couse, it doesn't hold enough. Everything else is in the cut-off box bottoms supplied to customers at BJ's, a warehouse retailer. One of my friends stores jewelry and supplies in an antique map chest, which has multiple 1" drawers.

Great sayings for beaders? Need help!

Hi everyone,

I'm working on an upcoming free project for Beading Daily on how to add text (words, sayings) to beads. I am looking for a good, short (maybe 10-12 words max) quote on creativity, imagination, art, or anything that a beader/jewelry maker might like. I keep finding looooong quotes that I like, nothing short.

If I use your quote on my sample bead, I'm happy to mail it to you to keep! But only if you want . . . I won't force anyone to take a free bead.

Please post your ideas here--I'll come back and check before the weekend. (I must make my sample beads this weekend!)

Organizing Jewelry

I like using old "Ferrero Rocher" trays, they are perfectly compartmented to hold earrings, brooches, rings and even small chains. I keep them in their original hard plastic bottom and lay them in my Jewellery drawer. They stack nicely too!

"Lame Lily" your design is not Leslie! It's inspiring; I could imagine more pieces forming a cluster, then joined together with small jump rings they could make a gorgeous pair of earrings or perhaps a larger pendant for a necklace. Look at it as one nice little piece of a bigger design! I really want to work with metal clay now. Thank you for sharing!

Metal Clay Classes

I so agree with Beading Daily that a good clay teacher makes a big difference. I would NOT recommend Tamara Farion, the teacher I had for a beginner intro class at Bead Fest. She arrived late, did a lot of socializing and a tiny bit of teaching. A considerable percentage of the class could not complete the projects in class as stated.

In my case Tamara said my piece broke in the kiln and she would repair it and mail it to me. After 6 weeks I'm still waiting and she is not responding to email. Didn't get very much for my $265. I'll need to take another intro class to duplicate what I should have learned in this one.

You probably don't know it, but because of you and BD, I am still here. I was going through a very tough time physically and mentally when I found this place. VERY tough. Because of you putting it together and the members being who they are, well it literially saved my life. I have never met such a nice caring community ever, in real life or in cyberspace. It makes me very emotional to hear of you leaving us, but I know that it is for the better for you and yours. Good luck in all of your endeavors, but I know that you'll do fine in whatever you are doing.

Fairwell Sweetie, you will be sorely missed.....
