In that case Windy............I am no doubt terribly OVER experienced.......and in many many widely divergent fields too. I thought we were limiting ourselves to beads........mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa.

Donna, laughing in sunny and oh so pleasant Oregon and I just got back from driving to town and actually went to the grocery store........figured it would be a tragedy of monumental proportions, but it fooled me completely. No one there. I must not have gotten the notice about what time to go.............

well, if you're talking beading experience, I have less than a year. It's being 29 that I have so many years experience at :)

Windy, that's easy, I piddled with an "Indian loom" as a small kid but nothing after that as I went on to other things, moslty working and clawing my way up the corporate ladder........... which in the dark ages took a lot of work and effort and long hours.

When I retired, in 2005 I took my first bead class. Prior to that, but also in 2005 I made up a square stitch kit which I bought back in the mid-90's and put away as soon as I saw those tiny delica beads. After I retired I got that kit out and taught myself square stitch, then I took a class in RAW and I was off and running............................

So while I will turn 71 this month, I have only about 7 years of beading experience. Donna, feeling much more like 41 than 71.

I believe the correct answer to be " Nothing." This looks like simply 3 strands of beads doubled with the ends dropped through the fold.

If you really wanted to make something like this so it was all attached, You could make something like by sewing the beads together with a square stitch or a flat herringbone ( if you wanted a different look) up to the point of the dangles.

I think a lock at the beck and gravity :) Or it are just 3 dubble folded strings with beads and you pull the strings trough the loop like with a sjawl.

This is beginning to have all the ear-marks of a CHALLENGE.............. Windy, you cannot possibly be older than me, no way and still be able to type and bead....LOL. If I owned enough beads to make one of these I'd issue a challenge, but I could probably pull off a bracelet length one. Where did you see this picture anyway, maybe you should stop looking there. Just kidding..........so where DID you see this? Hmmmm, inquiring minds need to know. Donna

Okay, let me try this again.

If you want to use a conventional clasp..you string one side of your clasp with 6 straight strands of beads. In your picture it would be the side with the white and pinkish beads. You would just string them as normal. The other side of the clasp you would string 3 strands to your desired length for the loop to fit where you want it to hit on the throat. Then you would loop those 3 strands and attach the other end to the same side of the clasp they came out of. That will make it look like 6 strands.Then slip the straight strands through the looped ones if you add some stitches between the straight strands and the looped strands where they meet to permanantly attach the two together. That way the only way to remove the necklace is by the clasp.

How did I do this time? Better?... No?

Windy- If you're using a conventional clasp. Then the side with the straight strands would be 6 the side with the looped strands would be 3. If you're using only the space bar then you would string 3 strands up to the length you predetermine then add the spacer then string the length of your looped beads then go back throught the other side of your spacer. Then continue those straight strands to your finished length.kwim? Basically your just looping 3 strands and the space bar is what will hold them together. And it will look like 6 strands instead of 3. I'm sorry, I can see it clearly in my head but I guess it gets kind of muddy when I try to explain it.

OK, but if I use 6 hole spacers, I would hve to do 6 strands insteadf 3 doubled up, yes?
