You might want to go 8# with crystals as they are notoriously sharpish on the edges. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;There is definitely a difference. By the time you get to 10# Fireline you have a pretty stiff material to deal with. I am looming a cell phone case right now and I did the warps with 8# Fireline as it will have to be strong to stand up to the usage. But for my cross threads......the weft, I did the end in 8# and is it just a bit to rigid but it will be good to have it right there again to stand up to the abuse.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;My feeling is that you would not have to go to 10# for much of anything except mega large rock necklaces.
