New Computer...

I got a new lap top this weekend (SQUEE!) Yeah, I'm loving it and exploring all the changes that have been made since I got my last one a few years ago - seriously they've changed a lot!

My only issue so far is that it didn't come with a word document type program other than the really crappy WordPad. My last computer came with a basic (but free!) version of MS Office Word program that I love. MS Office is on here, free for 60 days and then you have to buy it to keep it. Only it's like $150!!

Does anyone know of a good word program that is cheaper? I've been looking at download sites, but I don't really trust them and I'd rather know if I'm downloading something that's good at least, and you know, not going to give me a virus!

Has anyone heard from her? Perhaps my worry-wart gene is surfacing unnecessarily, (us moms can't help it) but I can't help being concerned for anyone that lives on a boat.

I think, everyone should be required to give infomation about themselves.

This is my last post for this year. Everyday in the news, we hear about people who go online, and pretend to be someone they are not.

Well count me odd, old fashion, or just old. I like to see the person(person's photo) and know who they are, where do they live. (not their house # or city, but at least what country they are in)

With so many of the "New Members" there is no bio, we could be communicating with a convict in Prison.(They do have internet priviliges)

Okay, I maybe dense, but if anyone wants info about you, and your on the internet, it is simple to check out your IP addresss. so, what is the big secret!

Ok, just my opinion.

I'm online almost everyday, sometimes several times a day on this forum. I read all the new posts in the forum first. (ok, some are just incredibly long unrelated rambling, those I just click in and right back out without reading. Waste of time I know, but I don't know how to stop them from appearing anyway) Then click on posts I haven't read. Learned much reading old posts and I'm glad they're there. Not sure what's happening, but I'm getting posts dated back to Dec now, and none of them were un-read and shouldn't be appearing. Is it just happening on my computer? If so, how do I stop them or can't that be done?

New Mailing rates

Wow, what a shock today when I mailed a 1.2OZ envelope to Canada. Old price was $3.00 and now $6.55. It is going to be real rough selling to international customers. I do lots of business all over the world for small packages under 3 oz. and the new postal rates will probably kill lots of business. Denmark went to $9.65 and each country will be different. Any one that is mailing maybe good idea to look at your Web sites and make the necessary adjustments.

Good evening all!! I'm not sure if any of the post I read were old, but I did see where some of you are dealing with pain and are having, or had, surgery. I want you to know I will be thinking of you and sending good thoughts your way. I too have had some issues and found out this past Wednesday I have permanent nerve damage and there is nothing else they can do, but make it worse. This has been going on for over a year and I am so glad I was able to focus on my beads and wire. It was great medicine!!!

Now back to you. Take good care of yourselves, feel free to vent if you need to and I will keep you close in my thoughts.

non delivery of magazines paid for

Hi I am trying to contact a REAL person within your organisation regarding the non delivery of TWO magazines that I have subscribed to . I am a liitle PEEVED to say the least that I persistantly get emails from you asking me to subscribe , yet when I do I do not get what I ordered and paid for Some 2 MONTHS ago. My Ticket number is 122400. I have sent 4 emails requesting A LIVE person deal with this, and tell me where my magazines are and why are they not here. Yet all I seem to get is a computer generated "Dear Valuved Customer" email that does not acknowlage me (use my name anywhere in the email) and is condesending to the point of Smugness in its responce. Please can a Real Person not a computer generated BRYAN MORTON actually respond to me . I know that all the emails I have got from your organisation are computer program generated as not one has actually address me or my issue , but has used an insulting obsequious form letter to totally and utterly ignore me and what I would like resolved . You know I actually belived that this company is / was a bit more advanced than this and that your customers were trully valued. I've yet to experience this first hand. I hope by feeding into this blog I can get a responce that is relevent to my complaint and resolves my complaint .But then again may be I am only A "VALUED CUSTOMER " in words not in any other true measuable sense... How so very very sad....

Needed: Proof beaded sculptures are real

Ongoing disagreement here. I love the beaded sculptures. If anyone has any pics of a work in progress, could you please share them? A certain mister (whom I am NOT going to glare at, nor say "I told you so" insists that the sculptures of animals and things are actually just stuffed and beaded over............. PLEASE give me something to show him otherwise! Ok, I admit, I will not only say I told you so, I will ask for some sort of special favor to make amends to me for dis-believing me.

I just wanted to wish all of my bead buddies a very Happy, Healthy and Successful 2013. In 2012 I had a few of my best craft show sales ever and am hoping that those of you who sell your creations were successful as well (we won't talk about the "not so successful" shows). I am looking forward to spending as much of my free time (when I am not at my full time day job) this cold and gloomy winter making new jewelry and exploring some new techniques. I have a lot of ideas...now if I can just get them out of my head and into reality!!

Can you please take the time to read it (it's very short) and if you agree, sign it? And please forward to your friends?

My daughter had a baby girl just about two hours ago. They are both happy and healthy, the baby weighed 8 lbs, 9 ozs. That is huge for my daughter, who only weighs 95 lbs when she is not pregnant! I am off to the hospital soon, can't wait to pick up the little bundle of love!

Hurricane Sandy?

I'm just wondering if any of our eastern U.S. or Canadian members have been affected by Sandy?

I saw a couple of posts one from Peggy(RudyandSamsmom) & one from Val (Valbeads) yesterday. So, I know they were alright then.

Do any of you know of any other members that we need to keep and eye out for? Or have you heard from any of them to let us know they are okay.

I saw some pictures on the news last night of all the flooding and of some of the wind damage Sandy was causing. Having survived many a hurricane and flooding I know first hand the anxioty this causes and the helpless feelings you find yourself facing.

I hope everyone is in a dry safe place.

Stain remover for Beading Embroidery projects

I just discovered, Hydrogen Peroxide will remove Blood stain from Beading Embroidery Project.

This one little purse may not survive the "mini accidents". I used Windshield washing fluid, to remove the kool aid.(red on white not good)

I use Windshield washing fluid on white carpets before. but even I was surprised it worked on satin material.

just thought I would share.

Hi all just wanted to let you all know how we are getting on with our beading tours to Czech Republik,

we have just had a 4 day tour with a small group of ladies from uk and to say that they couldn't believe there eyes would be an understatement, they loved the shops ,,and between then bought more that 14 kilos of beads, they love the czech prices and after a few days realised that 3 days wasn't long enough.

I think the only way for people to find out about us and what they are missing out on is really just word of mouth, so don't be scared and have a look at our web site,
