Bead Star Contest blues

I submitted twelve items to the bead star contest, not realizing that you could only submit one to each category. So I just had to cut my twelve down to three and that makes me sad. Oh well--now I can sell the ones that I couldn't submit. Anyone else make that mistake or just me? :)

 I thought about a lot of different designs but had to cut my choices down because of the 1 per catagory also. I am getting very excited to see all of the entries. It has been a VERY looooooooong wait. I hope that today and tomorrow goes by fast.

 I thought about a lot of different designs too... then read the rules and realized I wasn't even eligible to enter because I'm in the UK! I'm really looking forward to seeing all the entries though, and hope very much it'll be an international contest the next time round. Good luck to all who did enter!

I think you should be happy you could participate. This time again, the contest is open to only US and Canada-residents, which is good for them, so sad for us non-residents of Northern America.

 I'm very disappointed about that too - there was a lot of correspondence about making it international and I really thought that this was being given consideration. However, nothing has resulted from all our efforts, not even a 'token' international class. I don't have a problem with US-only contests; I just don't think it's appropriate for something with international voting and international publicity on an international forum to then exclude its international audience from participation. I also find it very hard getting the emails about it, knowing I can't participate - I hope admin will find some way of making sure that this year only the members in the US/Canada will be getting those emails.

Right, now I'm getting off my soapbox and heading to the workroom to finish my Beaded Book entry. I may be panicking... my book may be pants (and still in bits)... but at least I can have a go at this contest!

Good luck with your book!  I thought about doing one but never got around to it, and now I'm doing the Convergence project instead.  So far it's fun.  Can't wait to see the beads my partner makes!

Nice to meet you Cath-I think you're the first Swiss member we've had.  We're planning to do a camping trip in Switzerland next June, and my hubby is going to do the Swiss 500 motorcycle ride at the same time (he did the inagural one this summer).  Welcome!
