    books on wedding jewelry

I would like to make jewelry for my daughter's wedding (June 2009).  Can you suggest a good book on wedding jewelry?

You might try a book that focuses on pearl or crystal jewelry.  There are a number on the market now and they vary quite a bit as far as level (beginning/intermediate/advanced) and type of projects (beadweaving, stringing, wirework).  Interweave publishes two (Create Jewelry: Pearls and Create Jewelry: Crystals), but there are a lot of others available.  Laura McCabe, for example, has a new book out called: Creating Crystal Jewelry with Swarovski.  I haven't seen that book yet in person, but I have a postcard of the cover in my office and it is goregous!

    Anyone else have book suggestions?

Don't confine yourself to just pieces desicrbed as bridal/for weddings.  I did the jewelry for myself and all the women in my wedding party for my wedding last September.  After looking at a lot of books, magazines, and websites about wedding jewelry I ended up just doing designs that liked which weren't part of the "bridal" world in colors and finishes that went with the clothes we were wearing.  For example, my bracelet was overlapping "Russian" leaves done in antique gold seeds and 1.5mm cubes.  No bridal book in the world would ever have that, but it fit my fall theme and my antique gold dress.  Good luck!

    Hi,

You might want to try a new book I found on Amazon.com  Bridal Jewellery (Jewellery Handbooks).  Also, I go to different sites and magazines like Bride Magazine to get insiration from some of the designers out there.  Just make sure you don't copy and that you give credit to the original designer. Ultimately, you should design for the bride and her attendants. Not all can wear the same length earring or necklace, keep the design, but make adjustments for individuals.
