    Re: Back from weekend show!

Congrats Mikki on a successful show - sometimes the contacts at a show are worth more than the $$ in sales!

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I've got a question for everyone who does shows. We haven't gotten the first order of our display inventory (it's on the road as I type), and Mike is already putting together the second order.

After seeing Mikki's post, I've told him we should carry the organza bags - the plain ones and the ones with the foil stars. Would YOU - as a person doing shows - rather have the plain ones or the ones with the stars or designs or both? We can even get them in PLAID! BUT - there are about 6 sizes - which sizes should we carry? Is there a preferred color or would a mixed package work? How many in a package - 50, 100, 1000?

Would you want the velveteen bags or the satin ones, too?

We're trying to get set with standard items, but there is such a variety available, it's hard to decide. Any input is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks all!

    Deb

    Re: Back from weekend show!

I had a look at the site Cat suggested, and I'd go with a relatively neutral one myself like white or the light silver they had.  I'd rather the jewelry be the center of attention than the bag, and I'd want to be able to see clearly what's in it.  That's just my preference though.

Of the sizes they had, I couldn't see myself using anything but the 3x4" or 4x6".  All the others seemed too big, but that was only one website.  I tend to order things like that in bulk for a discount if possible, so quantities of 50 or 100 sounds reasonable to me.

Deb ~ I guess I'm kinda in the middle on which I would prefer ~ for storage something plain so that I can see what's in the bag but if I'm using them as gift bags I like the foil designs because it leaves a bit of mystery to what's inside.  I like almost every color & would probably use the same sizes as Jeni the most.  They are so much fun to use & you can't get them here except online.  Good Luck & let us know what you end up getting.

Thanks Deb...and no prob with the hijack...lol.

I am thinking about the velvet bags too....I think they look a bit richer and better for the mid range things I sell.  I'm sure most of us buy in bulk and we'd be a hard sell for you but I think carrying them in your store is a fabulous idea....particularly if you use them in displays...ya know...with the jewelry draping out (sad but so many need to actually see something used to get it).

If I were you I'd carry the velvet and the organza in the sizes Jen suggested.  As for color....black velvet ~ classic and the organza in black, white and cream...with and without pattern.
